Kung Fu Tea — Restaurant in South Riding

KFT SR has won the adulation of many people in our community. They’ve been open for a little over 2 mos now & deserve acclaim for the way the team as a whole have become adept & accommodating with their service to customers. For the South Riding community, it’s a super convenient & fun place for us to quickly grab boba tea or spend time hanging out.

The interior design of this location is unique in that it is quite spacious & airy. The store is well lit both by internal lighting features & natural light. My favorite part of being there is the soft sunlight that streams in from the front doors & fills the room with a sense of excitement & vigor. If you’re looking for a place to work after normal 9-5 work hours, the lighting there is relatively more conducive for doing so, compared to most local places in SR where the dimness of the light makes people feel drowsy in the evening. They also have these awesome large-sized tables which are helpful when you need more surface area to work.

Another uniquely sweet aspect to choosing KFT over most local coffee shops, is being able to watch the pure joy on people’s faces as they take the first sip of their liquid courage (boba tea). Boba seems to function as a natural analgesic to the human spirit. We could all totally use some of that magic some times, right?

The owner of the location is one of the most kind & assiduous people you’ll meet. KFT changed their app & there were a few things that weren’t intuitive for users to know. He noticed that I was confused with the app went out of his way to able help me as a customer figure it out. He was so effortlessly able to allay & dissipate my feelings of tension directed toward the app.

Much of the success of this location, I would attribute to the adroit nature of the owner & the dedication he has to it functioning both well & efficiently. I admire the way he works with a sense of alacrity & benevolence. Grateful for the new SR KFT for their service to the south...

Review of Kung Fu Tea (Dulles Landing):

I really enjoy coming here—the drink selection is great, and the staff is always friendly. It’s one of my go-to spots for bubble tea.

That said, there are a few areas for improvement: • Opening on time: On Saturdays (the day I usually visit), they are consistently late. Sometimes the doors open a few minutes past 11, or they technically open on time but aren’t ready to serve because they’re still setting up. For customers, that feels the same as being closed. • Bathroom cleanliness: Even when I’m the first customer of the day, the bathrooms are often messy or not stocked. It seems like they’re left over from the night before and not checked before opening. • Reviews and tote bag promotion: Offering a tote bag in exchange for only a 5-star review doesn’t feel very genuine. It would come across as more authentic if they offered it for any honest review, regardless of the rating.

I have never in my life had such an amazing experience at kung fu tea. To the workers: Nayeem and Emaad, I am utterly and utmost grateful for the efforts you have put into making my drink. KFT never misses with my go-to: honey milk green tea, but today… it was EXTRA AMAZE-BALLS!!! Nayeem, who rang me up at the counter, immediately lifted my mood and made me want to order a million more drinks! (Unfortunately, that’s a bit out of my budget!🤣) He may look big and scary, but he is a sweet guy who definitely knows how to talk to his customers! 😊 never judge a book by its cover 🙏! Emaad, who worked hard making my drink, made it absolutely perfect.. it tasted impeccable! He may be small… but his boba making skills are just MIGHTY! The boba was made to perfection, the honey was perfectly sweet, the sugar level was just right, but above all- the customer service is what sold me!
