Read moreMy friends and I stopped here for a quick bite after going the the Painted Tree nearby. While the food was decent given that the NOVA area is rife with good Indian food and other options, I personally do not want to go back to this establishment.
As soon as we sat down, the wait staff was rushing us to order mentioning after 3:00 PM, they would only have dosas available and a limited menu. While this is understandable, we had not even had time to look at the menu before they started hammering us about making an order. Another one of my friends did have dietary restrictions and we did ask them for some extra time which they did not accommodate.
My other friend mentioned we might leave if they continue to badger us, they said they could accommodate us to order off their normal menu if we do it immediately. We ordered then and there given their demands. The waitress then maybe less than 10 minutes after we had ordered demanded we pay for the food even though we had not yet gotten our order.
My friend asked why we were being asked to pay even though we hadn't been served and the waitress gave some reply that the kitchen would be closing soon and that it would be "easier for them." However, I did notice, we were the only people being asked to pay immediately after ordering and every other patrons got the bill after they ate. This came off as extremely rude and that they clearly only wanted us to pay so that we could not leave.
When the food arrived, it was average at best. I would say I've been to better establishments near my house for about the same price. The naan was decent, but the saag was a bit to watery and not as spicy or flavorful as it could have been.
Update based on reply: Thank you for your reply back to the review and kind offer for an additional meal. I appreciate that you will investigate how we were treated at your...
Read moreWe placed an order at 6:49 PM and was quoted that the order would be ready in 19 minutes. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:15 PM, as the online ordering platform indicated our food would be ready. However, upon arrival, the food was not ready.
I asked the staff how much longer it would take, and instead of providing a direct answer, they explained the tandoori cooking process. When I specifically asked for a time estimate, they told me 20 more minutes.
After waiting an additional 30 minutes, we re-entered the restaurant, only to find that our food was still not ready. At this point, it had been an hour since we placed our order.
I requested to speak with a manager, but the staff walked away and never returned. I had to find another employee to escalate the issue before I was finally able to speak with a manager. By then, it was 7:42 PM, and we still had not received our food. Instead of addressing the situation with an apology or a solution, the manager only justified the delay.
This was supposed to be a special meal for my fatherâs birthday, yet we wasted over an hour waiting. As compensation, the manager offered a measly $10 discount on a $90 bill, but even then, they wouldnât apply it directlyâinstead, they told us weâd have to call later to receive it.
When I asked for the owner's name, the staff refused to provide it. When I asked the manager for her own name, she also refused.
This was an absolutely horrible experienceâzero customer service, no accountability, and complete failure to deliver timely service. I would not recommend this...
