Lakeside Gyros — Restaurant in South Saint Paul

Incredible little place! I was/am still mourning the loss off Wongs Kitchen but at least another great has taken up residence! I got the lamb gyro bowl and was blown away, the portions were incredible and the meat was well seasoned. The thing that really took it to the next level was the rice. Usually the rice with a gyro bowl is just a base, but I could eat this rice by itself! Strong flavors of clove and cumin make it mimic a biryani and any heat it take down by the sauce.

The guy behind the counter was extremely kind and service was quick! I was hesitant to try another place after Wongs but I am so glad I did!

The pricing did scare me at first, but when I saw the amount you get for it and the quality I would say they're undercharging. This will become a new regular in my local...

I have been here 3 times, the first 2 times i got the lamb rice bowl, it was fantastic. Now today, there was a different person there. He handed me my food with greasy gloves, which was kind of gross but, not a big deal.

The real issue is, my friend and I got the same lamb gyro. On mine the sauce tasted like tarter sauce, was not enjoyable. My friends gyro the sauce was different and it was great. My other friend got the lamb rice bowl, the sauce tasted like tarter sauce and the rice was much less flavorful compared to the past 2 times I've had it.

I hope to see this issue resolved. This very close to my house and the first time I got it was so good I went back...

Lakeside Gyros Mixed Dinner Plate complete with about 5 lbs of chicken, lamb, beef, diced tomatoes, extra cucumber sauce, a slap of lettuce and served over a bed of rice that I can't help but wanting to lay down and take a nap on once I get halfway through this marvelous medley of meats, veggies, and tatziki aka the boss sauce. All this food for less than 15 bucks means I'll be coming back... a week from now when i get...
