EDIT/UPDATE: I see the response from the owner and it is not true that I stormed out in 5 seconds and I was told by the clerk that it was required when at first I questioned it. The exact statement from the clerk was 'Names are required for those using credit card payments'.
Seriously, what does this 'OWNER' think they are accomplishing?
Visited the store the other day, was ready to purchase a couple comics. Upon checkout I was asked for my first name so they can associate the order with it. I said what?
The guy proceeded to say for anyone using a credit card the system requires the first name. I hesitated for a second, then gave my name, but then proceeded to walk out the store without making the purchase due to the STUPID BUSINESS DECISION the owner has implemented!
Why in heck is the 'OWNER' collecting the first name, honestly I don't care much about it, but it's the FACT that I have never had to provide my name there previously making credit card purchases and NOR have I EVER BEEN ASKED for my first name making a purchase at any Retail, Restaurant establishment, EVER!
What are you thinking? It's a LAME BUSINESS practice and all because your associate asked that, you lost a sale and a customer ongoing. I will go back to 'Source Comics' from now on due to you having a stupid and unnecessary...
Read moreDreamers Vault is awesome. It was so great to have moved to a small suburb and find they have the most amazing place to geek out at over comics and games. The staff is incredibly friendly and extremely passionate about their interests. While the selection is not the biggest, it is more than enough to find new things or quick essentials if you're into games.
I am more of a comics guy and it has been great to get recommendations from their staff. While unfortunately corona has kept me away from taking part of any games or tournaments, I am very interested in coming back to relearn Magic the Gathering which was a passion of mine when I was a kid twenty years ago or more.
My favorite part about this store is how they work to facilitate community. Even with restrictions they still have made their tables available via appointment so that folks can come in and game. I think this is an incredibly important thing since kids (and adults) who are interested in comics and games need space to go be themselves. South Saint Paul is a small town and Dreamers Vault is one or the very few places where people can go to enjoy themselves with friends.
In short, I highly recommend this place, not only as a business, but also as a...
Read moreDreamers vault in general was my go to store for the last 3 years, however the trade in prices for store credit have been drastically reduced to the point of not being remotely worth it. I am all about supporting a lgs, but the retail prices in conjunction with the trade in credit creates a scenario where I will no longer bring trades to these locations. The final straw was the suggestion that I donate my bulk to the store, not to drop it off and the store would pass it on to a non-profit, but to simply give away these cards for the store’s benefit after on top of a reduction to 1$/1000 from, an already than lower trade in than at least 5 other lgs’ in the area, at 2.50.
As always the workers are great, but the value for my money just isn’t there any more. Great spot for games, but the bottom line makes me feel like my time and money are not valued and that when it comes to money things...
