Finally decided to try Chevys for the first time and left incredibly disappointed. To start we were pretty confused as to why happy hour is only offered to one side of the restaurant (The cantina) all because we sat at the dining room we had to pay more for drinks. Our server did not bring us waters and we were served our food before even receiving utensils. We had to flag another employee down just to receive these items. For the price you pay for the food, the portions and food quality was upsetting. I ordered the Taco Vampiro without beans and cilantro. My tacos had a small amount of meat and only one tortilla per taco. For almost $9 per taco they were an absolute joke. My husband's burrito was small, he also did not order any beans. His burrito has ZERO meat. I have attached a photo of his burrito halfway through and as you can see, it's nothing but rice... Once again for a $16.50 burrito we expected better. When we left our server came over and decided to take the duty of preselecting the tip amount to 20% on the card machine. We adjusted for the service received and left with a clear idea that we will not be coming back. Do yourself a favor, forget the overpriced, low quality chain that is Chevys and support your local taco truck instead.

I would caution anyone from coming here. That was a hard wire found in the birria tacos. IN the tacos. We passed it around the table and one of my party recognized this as the wire brush for the grill. I don't know what it is from but it's steel and extremely hard and my son hurt his tooth biting into it. BESIDES THE WIRE!!! The food wasn't great. No charring on the skirt steak?! Might as well have been boiled. And the flavor was so bland. Birria tacos were so poorly executed that we still have tacos leftover and we aren't talking home. We haven't been to a Chevys since they closed the one in Stonestown and we will not be back ever again. It was horrible! I hate to give bad reviews and only do when it's really bad. Service? Think DMV. I brought it up to the manager on duty. Her response? "That's strange." Seriously? How about, "I'm so so sorry!" Nope! "That's strange." And the check is just to show I'm not looking for anything for free and the metal wasn't the server's fault. They must not get a lot and I'm never coming back so i might as well be charitable.

Came here for lunch. Service was sub par at best. Never got any tableware or utensils til we asked. Are we suppose to eat with our hands at Chevy's now? I ordered the lunch fajitas 2item combo; carne asada and carnitas. They ran out of carnitas, so I opted for a double order of the carne asada. Which I did not get and still got charged. It was a single lunch order. The rice and beans were very good. The tomalito was lacking in corn flavor from what I remember it use to be. The tortillas it came with was bad. They make it to order. They were uneven in size; one of them was less than half the size of the others. It came in a little paper bag. Unfortunately because they make it to order and is hot. Placing it into the bag made it soggy, sticky and hard to take out. I had to rip the bag in half and carefully pry it apart. Otherwise, I would have to eat a glob of tortillas. I give it two stars for nostalgia and good rice/beans. I wouldn't be coming back with so many Mexican options nearby.

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the service I received at your restaurant Today 08/28/2023 at around 8:22 PM. I called multiple times, approximately 5 to 7 times, thinking that there was an issue with my mobile device. I even tried calling from my husband's phone, but there was no response whatsoever.

The reason for my repeated calls was to inquire about a reservation that my group of 10 people had attempted to make online. We were unsure if the reservation had been successfully made or if we could make it over the phone. We were also considering the option of simply showing up at the restaurant. Unfortunately, the person in charge of reservations had mistakenly made the reservation at Chili's instead.

Due to the lack of response from your restaurant, we decided to take a chance and fulfill our reservation at Chili's. To our surprise, we had an excellent experience there. However, one of our guests decided to go to Chevys and discovered that they were open. Despite our numerous attempts to contact your restaurant, all our calls were ignored.

Our guest tried to inquire about the situation with the manager present, but it seemed like there was a significant language barrier. I am unsure if the manager is new or simply unwilling to clarify why we were blatantly ignored. We genuinely wanted to have a pleasant celebration at your restaurant, but it seems that it will now be added to our blacklist. We have found a better place where we can communicate in the same language and receive prompt responses over the phone.

I hope you take this feedback seriously and address the issues we encountered. It is essential for any business to value their customers and provide satisfactory service. I trust that you will take the necessary steps to improve your restaurant's operations and...

I usually Love Chevys, But not tonight...first off the rolled silver was dirty and disgusting...dried food on the knife. Second the bartender/waiter had the personality of a wet dish rag....never even said hello, just walked up and said want do you want? He apparently doesn't understand English I asked for soft corn tortillas on the Salmon tacos for my friends order...he was so confused...we got flour tortillas ? We had the Salmon tacos before and they were great, tonight we could barely find the fish? I ordered the Super Cinco combo plate... price raised to $25. My usual go to. It was so disappointing! The food came in 5 minutes and was cold...like it was just stuff sitting around and assembled. Shame on you for trying to pass this off for fresh made food. You know people aren't stupid, why are you trying to fool us? It doesn't work!! All the portions were small the taco, enchiladas and tamales had no meat fillings just lettuce and salsa? I received a small amount of refried beans because the waiter never asked for my preference, I wanted black beans! I had to grab another waitress to get water, a Togo box and the bill, because the guy I had couldn't care less!!! He was not busy, just indifferent. I don't know what is going on there but the service was non existent and rude, the food substandard! I wish you luck, but if this is the path Chevys is taking, poor management, well it won't be around long!!! By the way I've worked in Hospitality 40 years and know this is not the way to...

Review based on happy hour 3pm to 9pm. Not 5pm. Not 6pm. But 9pm. That's 6 straight hours. Who does that anymore?? Pro tip: show up during the 3:00 hour and snag some bar seats. Guaranteed, the place will be packed by 4pm. Their HH menu has some great items below $10, although pass on the queso unless it's served piping hot (lukewarm coagulated cheese is a NO). We tried the street tacos which were good. The steak and carnitas had decent flavor but unfortunately the chicken was dry. Moving onto the $6 house margarita. It is so good and well-balanced--despite not being a margarita drinker, I easily had three of them. They're very pleasant and easy to drink (obviously) without feeling like you've been hit by a truck. We had the carnitas and shrimp fajitas for dinner and were also pleasantly surprised. Great flavors, loved the grilled veggies alongside as well as the freshly pressed hot tortillas. Love how they are served on a sizzling plate! One order was enough for 2 of us with leftovers to take home. And if you sign up for their rewards club, they'll comp almost anything on their entree menu as a reward. Now THAT'S how you get happy customers. Loved this spontaneous experience. We'll be back very soon because I've been getting email specials that cannot be ignored : ) Caveat: minus 1 star for the bald bartender who can be quite rude, abrupt and unresponsive but if you're willing to look past that, Chevy's happy hour...
