Alta Loma Park — Attraction in South San Francisco

A nice neighborhood park. My complaints about this park start with the redoing of the children's play ground. Months have gone by since construction began and it's still not even close to being completed. Weeks go by without any work being done at all. My other complaint is that Alta Loma School has its students do laps around the park. These kids run at you and in my case, scare my dog. I also feel unsafe when these kids run by me, coming close to running into me. Many other adults do not come to this park anymore because of these students. Now I know it's a public park but these students have their own field on school grounds but don't utilize the field. The school put up fencing prohibiting the public from going on school grounds to use their field after school hours but feel free to go to Alta Loma park and basically take over the park especially from us tax paying senior citizens. Stay on your own school property and leave the public park...

I loved this park two years ago, even had my son's 2nd birthday here. However I tried to go back and found it was closed due to remodeling...I was quite confused because as a mom who's been to hundreds of parks, this park didn't need remodeling, it was close to perfect. Finally revisited it today and was super unimpressed with the remodel. The awesome playgrounds suitable for all children, basic but beautiful have been ripped out and new high tech I guess equipment has been put in. My almost 4 and 6 year old couldnt do much seeing how most of the playground is a netted web cage thing leading up to a super high slide is the main cha cha now. Everything else looks the same . Thought they would of added more seats and tables make it more party picnic friendly but no. Super...

This is a really great park, the field is great, the tennis courts are great, and the playground is great. The field is very nice and clean, the walking paths are nice and clean too. The park is particularly good, there are the basic things, swings, slides, etc. but there are some very fun and unique things. There are things like a rope triangle and a spinny thing you stand, a spinny thing you sit on, a spinny thing you lay on, a rope triangle, a rope tunnel, it's all pretty good.

There are many trash cans keeping the park clean, there are many tables that are good to eat on, and the trash cans have removable lids which allows you to throw away pizza boxes and such. It's all just a perfect combination for a great park.
