Supermarkets are like dentists - it's rarely a fun event, and you just have to do it every once in awhile (unless you that fancy and do the Google Express or Instacart thang).

Pacific Market however is my favorite supermarket. Ever. I could end my review right here but feel the need to elaborate why.

1. prices - especially the veggies/fruits are really really cheap. Compared to the usual Bay Area price tags this is a veggie heaven! They always have discounted stuff - where else can you get a dozen bananas for under $1? That's bananas!

2. selection - growing up in Germany I have never ever heard of half of the fruit they sell but what the heck - I'm loving their selection. Continuing to the aisles, I already expect to be completely lost there, but I'm a quick learner. They do a good job of making it easy for you to find stuff.

3. business - surely there are times when this place is poppin' but it rarely does whenever I'm there. I never have a hard navigating the cart through the market, and unlike Trader Joe's there is never a long line at check-out. Very relaxing.

The prices are reasonable and the quality is good. The store is clean and well-organized, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They also have a bakery and a deli section that offer delicious baked goods and prepared foods. I especially like their fried chicken wings and their purple rice cake. They also have a lot of specialty items that are hard to find elsewhere, such as frozen durian, jackfruit, and plantains. Pacific Supermarket is my go-to place whenever I need to stock up on Asian ingredients or try something new.
