Oof. Where to start...we're from Connecticut and on an around the country drive. We needed a place to stop for the night and chose the wrong hotel, but thats an entirely different issue. Anyway, we were pleased to see that the ihop next door was open 24/7. Wrong decision again. First we waited for several minutes in a mostly empty restaurant for any staff at all to appear. One of the servers finally made an appearance and lead us to the table. Another several minutes go by before someone different decides to stop by and take a drink order. Iced tea, lemonade, coffee: took five minutes. By that point we were the only patrons in the place. Then we waited and waited some more while the two servers chit chatted. At this point I was hoping the food would make up for what the service was clearly lacking. Boy oh boy, I have never been wrong so many times in one night. (Write that one down because I don't admit to being wrong very often.) Crepes, pancakes, and french toast were barely warm. Eggs were so undercooked they were completely inedible. Our server never came back to check on us. Ever. We had to flag down the other server to get drink refills which again took a full five minutes to get. She left behind the empty glasses. We finished eating and stacked our plates. Two couples and one single came in during this time. She came and took our plates and we asked for the check. A other single came in ordered his food and got his check before we got ours. She came back and asked if we needed anything. Again we said we were all set, just looking to pay up. When she finally came back with the check she set it right in the sweat from the glass of iced tea.
Anyway...2/5 because I'm not a jerk, but this was a really...
Read moreI'm sorry, I thought I edited my blithely rant earlier. I gave more stars, and here is why. The food is really 2 star. It's not great. It's semi home made, maybe I don't know, but it feels like it, by people who I doubt would do it the way they do. I speculate only, but corporate has done the caloric testing (per code) and instructed the chefs to "NO EXTRA NOTHING OR THEY BECOME FAT COVID DROPPING DEAD LIKE". so the bacon is degreased, the batter only creamed enough to legally be what it is, and the eggs dispensed from a auto dispensed test tube that measures it down to 0.0001gram to ensure no more than 71mg cholesterol per serving. "OR ELSE!". It's OK, but feels too healthy. Oh. But the country chicken steak is almost unedible due to over salting. Like waaaaay more than we need. Glad your not sick from covid and better =) joke aside. The fact that they are open, as in allowed with indoor seating, allowed to function at all, 5/5 stars. The server, maitre'd is on point. He has gotten everything right for me, is courteous and honest. I forget your name, I think he's from South of mexico parts of the world, and I made him nervous demanding all sorts of blue berry pancakes and waffles with chicken and demanding to know if the oranges are not only organic but free range and sustainably sourced (I was kidding, you are right to be nervous with questions like this). 6 of 5 stars. He here every time I've come in and deserves a raise and paid vacation. . It's really a 3 star place, but covid, location, idiot customers have force padded the score, but( I'll add the name when I come by and find out what it is) he is seriously the only reason I changed review and added 2 stars. If not for him I'd leave...
Read moreTHIS PLACE IS ULTIMATELY THE WORST IHOP including all restaurants I've ever been too In My ENTIRE Life!! There is only one waitress who doesn't even acknowledge customers sitting in the lobby waiting to be seated and/or waiting to pick up their food. I ordered French toast to go I was probably a hundred feet away. When I picked up my French toast it was cold like it never have even been cooked! I got strawberries on my French toast and it was the most repulsive thing that I have EVER put in my mouth!!! So I gave him the benefit of the doubt and I tried it again, but I figured how can they go wrong on a BLT!?!?! Well I have never paid $15.99 for a BLT what's sourdough bread that was very tough, as in microwaved and not toasted! I couldn't even give it away!! I ordered a strawberry shake, received my strawberry shake it was a kids size cup. I thought they just gave me a small one because I didn't specify what size. When I got the bill they charged me $6.99 for my strawberry shake! I then asked for change for a dollar because I needed 2 quarters. And I'm not entire restaurant they told me they did not have four quarters for a dollar!!!! It's amazing that that restaurant is still open. Even the managers are super rude! It's so old and dirty and smells like a old dirty dish pan!!! They need to be inspected by the health department. I will never ever go to this IHOP again! I will tell my friends and my family not to eat at the IHOP! I don't eat fast food after eating there I would rather go to...
