Central Pizza & Pub — Restaurant in Southbridge

I usually am a frequent flyer for take out at Central Pizza, but a few weeks ago for the first time, I dined in at the bar and was absolutely blown away but how fantastic my experience was. To start, The food was phenomenal! It always is, but the deals that come with dining in are really enticing to keep coming back! I literally don’t have one complaint! My firecracker shrimp, Hermes pizza, and spartan pizza came out to the bar piping hot, and was exactly how I ordered it! The bartender, Liz, was so friendly and attentive. She Asked both me and my girlfriend our names and addressed us that way all night. It felt as though we had known her for years. The camaraderie between all the staff made it even better. Everyone we interacted with was smiling, laughing and helping one another. I know that’s how a restaurant, or any business for that matter should operate, but that’s not always the case, so it’s refreshing to see places still have fun like this. One more person I think should get some recognition, is the manager. Her name is Devon, I know this because I sought her out as I was leaving to tell her what a FANTASTIC job she does there. She walked around and talked with all the guests at the bar, probably about half a bar full, it wasn’t too busy, but still took the time to ask everyone how their food was, how their day was, etc. I’ve spoken with her on the phone a few times. The first time was because I had an issue with an order. when I called, she took the time to listen to everything I had to say, and made sure that it came back to me the way I had requested it. The driver was kind to me even though he had to come back and handed me a warm chocolate chip cookie for waiting as an added treated! Devon was kind on the phone and I felt as though she genuinely cared that I was upset. The second time was because I called to thank her for the order we had received. She not only remembered I had an issue the previous time, but she packed it herself with a little note thanking me for ordering again. It’s the little things like that that will keep me coming back. Since moving to the area, Central pizza has become my go-to pizza spot that everyone in my family enjoys. The food tastes great and the prices are very reasonable making it an affordable takeout option so I order pretty frequently. I wanted to share a recent experience that really solidified my loyalty to the business. Recently I ordered a delivery and one of the items was incorrect. It was only about 30 minutes until close, but I called back to let them know that the order had an incorrect item. The owner picked up the phone and went ABOVE AND BEYOND to come up with a resolution. All of the drivers had left for the night but he originally offered me a credit but I really wanted my salad lol so he offered to PERSONALLY deliver my food once he closed up for the night. I ended up coming to get it since I didn’t want to wait and when I came to pick up the order, he personally came to bring it to my car curbside and apologize for the mistake. We ended up chatting and he told me a bit about the background of the business and how it’s been in his family for decades and he invited my family to come try out the restaurant since I’ve only ever done delivery. He was so kind and friendly, and very clearly passionate about his profession. I am so impressed by the professionalism and the dedication to his customers and you can clearly tell this is a man who LOVES what he does and the food reflects that as well. Wife and I went to Central Pizza last night. This will be our 3rd time in 2 weeks. Thought we would try something different so we ordered steak grinders. One with just mushrooms and cheese one with extra onion ion and extra mushrooms and an order of fried pickles. When the sandwich’s arrived, I noticed my wife’s had no mushrooms in it. I brought it up to the counter and advised the young girl at the counter that my wife’s didn’t have any mushrooms. She they proceeded to tell me yea there is, See there are some small pieces of mushroom. She then said I can them throw more mushrooms on the sandwich which I thought was odd because they would be cold and uncooked. I was hoping she would just say we can remake it with more mushrooms. I said I am all set and sat back down. I then noticed my steak and cheese had the same issue. I ordered extra onion and extra mushrooms and again my steak had little to no mushrooms.
