Nikola's — Restaurant in Southfield

Never had an issue with customer service until Sunday October 15. I normally do not write bad reviews...but this review needs to be heard...so I took my mom for food....from the time my mom was ordering her food...the young lady that was servicing her clearly seemed to be having a bad day....she was very rude and unprofessional... despite that....I never said anything to the young lady until my mom asked her for a receipt.....the young lady really became annoyed with my mom.....in a very firm voice she told my mom that she cannot get a receipt until the food was handed to her.....she then grabs part of my mom's order which was a brown paper bag.... forcefully slams it on the counter top and tells my mom "Here is your receipt"....she then goes into the kitchen area and yells "I really can't stand old people",.....now that's when I became upset....first off you're speaking of MY MOM all because she asked you for a receipt.... secondly not only was she being rude and disrespectful to my mom....there was a lobby full of older people waiting for food....so the statement was offensive to them as well....after a verbal altercation with the employee about her comment toward my mom....I let her know that I heard her...she began the shrug her shoulders as if she didn't care ....her customer service was terrible....first time ever experiencing this at this restaurant....the manager was very nice....and tried her best to fix the situation by apologizing for the behavior of the employee ( which she should not have to do)...and gave me and my mom free desert....which we were not looking to get but really appreciated the gesture from the manager. Despite my experience with that one rude employee after the many years of visiting this restaurant....I would still go back because the food and the other employees are...

You want good delicious food for your dollars come here and many other restaurants around the southeast area Used to live around here always delicious affordable food Drove a 40-minute trip for this place Yes, it was worth it Came for lunch because it herd dinner time can get pack High great reviews for this restaurant Want to see if the what the hype is all about Man, if I can give it 10 stars 🌟 I would Clean place medium capacity not too big Friendly staff Our server was awesome, gentlemen For appetizers, we ordered the potatoes skin 5. It was good. It was like half a potato generous amount of bacon and cheese For the main course, we ordered Lumber jack chicken, half bbq chicken And the half slabs ribs .all items come with Side dish. We got 2 mack cheese and 2 collard greens and 2 pasta salad Lumber jack chicken was good, not thin, but medium-sized chicken breast cooked perfectly The half chicken is not cooked super soft like rotisserie version .just cook with a perfectly bbq sauce, not sweet like other bbq sauces Last the half slabs bbq ribs Same bbq sauces not too sweet with some tang .they put just enough bbq sauce, not heavy a light coating Side items like Mac and cheese Collard green are delicious and generous amounts of food too .cold pasta is hot the spot, too Seasoned just right, not salty or greasy, too The toasted bread is huge Their food portion is huge and the prices are cheaper affordable than other restaurants Your leftovers for another day The food was so good we ordered a Ruben sandwich 🥪 to go too It is also delicious to a good portion of sandwiches Affordable, delicious, huge portion, what not to love about this place Will definitely be back for sure Come to this place of your hungry...

March 15, 2025 I don't know how to explain about the food at Nikolas. The fried chicken(not sure if it was supposed to be broasted or fried) was huge, old, unseasoned, cooked in old oil, and just horrible! My brother's ribs were tough, partially BURNT on the outside, and PINK on the inside--the manager actually came out and told us they were supposed to be like that! OMG!! The fried shrimp were okay and the only thing I could stomach along with a few fork fulls of coleslaw--there were no spoons! My frozen virgin pina colada was pretty good. The garlic bread was okay, but the broasted potatoes were warm and very bland! My sister's mac n cheese was horrible--DEFINITELY KRAFT OUT THE BOX MIXED WITH SOMETHING ELSE! This was supposed to be a birthday dinner for my big brother--HOW VERY DISAPPOINTING! I am extremely confused as to why it was so packed??! We had to wait in the car for 20-25 minutes because the waiting area was full. We saw people with several carry-out orders--what in the world did they order??!! I know they serve large portions, but the food is very SUB-PAR!! The atmosphere was too dark--I LIKE TO SEE THE MENU AND MY FOOD! It was so cold in there, I had to keep my coat on! Debbie, our waitress was very nice and sweet, so we tipped her generously. I asked for the manager. He took a good while, but came and took my meal and bro's ribs off the menu sill charging us for Bro's sides, cornbread, and our drinks. Maybe, I should have ordered the chicken nachos?!!--IDK! Needless to say, we will not be...
