I visited the Logan's in Southgate on 10/21/2025. I arrived just before 9pm. My server greeted me fairly quickly and asked if I would like a drink and app, I said yes to both and ordered a coke with the potato skins app. I also told her I was ready to order my actual meal. Normally I get a steak but this time I ordered a burger.
The waitress brought me the drink and rolls within a couple minutes. After that though, I waited for what seemed like a very long time for an app, and my waitress only brought more rolls and offered no reason for the delay. Another waitress asked her to prove to her that she actually entered the app in correctly since she witnessed me waiting for so long. They both checked the system and saw that the app was correctly entered however it was over 20 minutes ago. Both waitresses left the station and went to the kitchen only for my waitress to return to the dining room to sweep the floor and ignore my table.
Another 20 minutes went by and by now I was almost ready to leave. The waitress finally brought my potato skins at 946pm, at which time she only said "sorry for the delay". I asked her what happened and she just said "I don't know".
I ate the app, then waited some more and eventually at 1008pm with no burger in site and no explanation, I saw my waitress again and told her to cancel the burger. She asked if I wanted to have it boxed up (even though she never brought it out) and I said "No, just cancel, I'm ready to leave". Then she left and came back saying "The manager is trying to figure out the ticket". Then she left again. 10 minutes later the hostess that originally sat me came out and gave me a receipt saying that they were only going to charge me for the drink. I asked why the manager didn't come out to speak to me and the hostess just shrugged. I said that I appreciated the hostess at least having the guts to speak to an obviously upset customer and she smiled and said, well if you'd like to complain to the GM his name is Ron and the manager right now is Mike, and you can also complain to corporate too if you want. I asked if this was normal of Mike to run things like this and she didn't respond with words but smiled. I asked her about what the delay was for and the hostess said that the kitchen did receive the tickets for both the app at 916pm and the burger at 920pm and just ignored the app order for 20 minutes before starting it and ignored the burger order entirely.
Obviously this location has issues with training since the waitress was new enough that she didn't know how to get her orders out on time and wasn't trusted to know what she was doing placing orders in the system by more experienced waitresses proven by the interaction I witnessed. There's also an issue with the kitchen staff not making orders, the hostess being disgruntled because the manager made her deal with the customer instead of coming out himself, and the manager not having the nerve to speak to upset customers and instead giving away free food which costs you money, because he can't manage the restaurant properly.
This could have all been fixed and recovered properly if the waitress would have escalated the delay to another more experienced waitress if she was too inexperienced to confront the kitchen staff, or bring it to the attention of the manager to get the app and burger out on time. If the app was delayed the manager could have come out and spoken with me to apologize and offered to comp the app but charge for the burger and make the burger himself or have it made on the fly to prevent further delay. Then he could have offered like a $10 off coupon for "next time" to ensure repeat business and create the possibility of a second more positive clean slate visit. But instead he just tried to buy me off and ended making me angry and I won't be coming back for a long time if ever. I have come to this location for years and never had this bad of an experience, but this manager Mike needs to go, he's running your Southgate location into the ground.

Read moreI’ll start by saying I rarely write bad reviews and since I’ve worked in the restaurant business before I usually give them the benefit of the doubt on a ton of stuff. Today was a different story.
Today is mother’s day. I expected it to be busy I expected a wait and I expected a wait on food. I received all of those things as expected but not so much in the way I expected. We showed up had a 30 minute wait. After about 30 minutes my wife asked how many people were before us. The answer 4. 8 People later we got concerned after about the 12th we checked again. We were skipped. Simple mistake no big deal. Then after it was brought to their attention 2 more families were seated. Then the host gave us the “oh my bad face” in the middle of calling another family. Then we were seated. We ordered our drinks it took a bit to get them as to be expected. We got them I drank mine pretty fast then we ordered when the waitress came back. She left without even looking at me no ask of drink refills etc. that’s fine I’ll get it next go round. Nope. Next time came and went same thing, there was no break in the roll drop off to even say “hey can I get a refill” the Olympic sprinter was already gone. Third time she came back my wife stepped in because she was the only person she made eye contact with and asked for me to get a refill. So about an hour later our food came out. By this point my small child is crying because she hasn’t eaten in forever which I get it’s mother’s day. Let’s get the food going! Should be fresh... nope. Half her Mac n cheese was cold half of my sandwich was cold. Our food was presented before my kids food. My fries were cold. I got Au jus with my sandwich and that ended up being about a tablespoon full so I had the warm half of my sandwich with what au jus I could. After that it was rubber shoe sandwich time which I couldn’t even finish and I didn’t finish cold fries because cold fries are gross. The manager came by to see how we were my wife told her a couple issues she apologized and left. She then had the server come back and offer us a free desert. Our $50 meal that could have been pulled out of a trash can was still something we had to pay full price for but at least we get a large brownie brick to take home. Happy mother’s...
Read moreWalked in about 2pm on 12/17 Sunday with my family for my sons birthday dinner. We were greeted nicely but then it went down hill from there. Hostess walked away. Another came and asked if we were helped. I said yes but she disappeared. This new hostess seated us right away. First table behind the hostess stand. Said our server would be right there. 5 minutes pass, 7 minutes pass, 10 minutes pass... We have yet to be greeted. @ 15 minutes I finally got up to find someone. The hostess was there and stated oh she must be in the back doing butter...now I have been in the food business for 20 years. Cook, mgr, server, hostess... You always check for new tables, orders, guests on a consistent basis. Finally about 20 minutes of being there, with no hello and no drinks, and few tables a server comes to the table and takes our drink order. Then after another 5-7 minutes, our server shows up. At this point I am at my wits end and ready to walk out, but its my sons birthday and I was trying to make the best of it because this is his favorite place to eat. She takes our order and we waited for almost 45 minutes for our food. I have never been to a place to eat and been served in this manor. Food was hot and served by a manager and a trainee. Cooks did a nice job steaks were cooked to temp. Thank you. Even the manager didn't say a word about how things were going w our meal. I say the only good thing our server did was keep our glasses full. She almost didn't get a penny for a tip but I don't believe in that. I have been on that end of the stick. I tipped based on the original total not our coupon discount but no where near the 20-25% I normally tip a good server. Excellent service receives excellent tips. Logans in southgate.....you need to have better communication with in your establishment. Other servers walked past our table as well multiple times and didn't even acknowledge us there.
