I recently had the pleasure of visiting MJR Southgate Cinema 20, and overall, it was a delightful movie-going experience. From the moment I stepped into the theater, I was impressed by the comfortable seating arrangements. The plush, spacious seats provided the perfect level of support, making for a truly enjoyable viewing experience. Unlike some other theaters where you end up squirming in discomfort halfway through the movie, here I could fully relax and immerse myself in the film without any distractions.
The concession stand at MJR Southgate Cinema 20 was also a pleasant surprise. They offered a wide variety of snacks and drinks, ensuring there was something for everyone's taste. From classic popcorn and candy to more gourmet options, the selection was extensive and satisfying. I particularly appreciated the availability of healthier snack choices, catering to those who prefer a more nutritious movie snack. However, it's worth noting that while the quality of the concessions was excellent, the prices were a bit on the higher side. So, if you plan to indulge in snacks during your movie, be prepared for a slightly heavier dent in your wallet.
One aspect that truly stood out at MJR Southgate Cinema 20 was their movie selection. They consistently offered a diverse lineup of films, ranging from the latest blockbusters to indie gems and everything in between. Whether you're a fan of action-packed thrillers, heartwarming dramas, or side-splitting comedies, this cinema had something to cater to all tastes. It was refreshing to see a well-curated selection of movies, making it a go-to destination for any movie enthusiast.
Moreover, the theater's facilities were well-maintained and clean, creating a pleasant atmosphere throughout. The staff was courteous and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. From the ticket counter to the ushers, everyone seemed genuinely interested in making our visit enjoyable.
In conclusion, MJR Southgate Cinema 20 is a fantastic place to catch the latest films. The comfort of the seating, the wide variety of snacks, and the impressive movie selection make it an excellent choice for a movie night. The only slight drawback is the higher concession prices, but with the overall quality of the experience, it's well worth it. If you're looking for a top-notch movie theater that caters to your comfort and entertainment needs, MJR Southgate Cinema 20 is the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThough, I absolutely lovvvve this theater, during my recent visits, I was very disappointed. The coca-cola machine was not calibrated correctly (pop was flat), the Icy frozen machine was pouring out, like kool-aid, Not at all frozen, and the other Icy machine was simply "out of order". I was also Not impressed that I was "suggestive-sold" into paying an extra dollar "IF" I wanted to have Real tasting butter added to my popcorn (Wait... WHHHHAT???!!?? Now, I'm paying extra money for artificial topping to make my buttered popcorn taste buttery!???!). I must admit, I was curious, and paid the extra, for the butter topping, and yes, it was much better tasting, than the help-yourself-stuff from "the other" counter. However, I've now been educated on "WHY" "The Other" movie theaters popcorn ALWAYS tasted so much better than MJRs...now, I know. I'm certainly glad "The Others" haven't caught onto that same "Suggestive Sales" pitch, to increase their popcorn price, as well. Above all else, though, what matters to me, more than ANYTHING, is the safety and well being of the customers. I've been seeing a decline in the cleanliness of this particular place of business. Though, the manager is often visible, nothing seems to be resolved with how dirty this place is becoming. This seems to be an accident, waiting to happen. The lobby (in my humble opinion), should be "spot-checked" and addressed every 20 minutes (or/and, As Needed), it's NOT, and I Know this because, it takes me 20 minutes to get through the snack line and grab salt/ napkins for my buttered popcorn. I RARELY see anyone sweeping up the mess, unless, there's a liquid spill. The womens bathroom is not kept as clean as they used to be, either, I might add. I've noticed a decline in this movie theater, which causes me to wonder if they need to hire additional staff, or if it's an improperly-trained new manager, or if perhaps, the manager had been there too long and needs a vacation, or simply doesn't care or???? I love this place and don't like the thought of going elsewhere, but, if the lobby and bathrooms continue to appear filthy, how much do they care about the "food area", which isn't as visible? I love our MJR theaters and our community, let's strive for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to love coming here. I came to see Final Destination this past Saturday and spent around $80 just with admissions and concessions. Anyways, me and my friend proceeded to the theatre and about 30 minutes into the movie my phone vibrated (I'm not justifying anything). It was a text from my daughter, mind you my screen brightness was so dim I couldn't see the screen, the ringer was off and so was the sound. NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE COULD SEE MY SCREEN AND IT WASN'T BEING DISRUPTIVE. So I check the text, what of the workers comes into the theatre and walks by me. He was a Caucasian male maybe early 20's if he is lucky and he had kind of a wavy Mohawk hair cut, a braided tan necklace, and another black necklace on.. I think nothing of it, my daughter was updating me on multiple grandmother who was in the hospital. So I read it and put it away, he then proceeds to come by and tells me I can not be on my phone and if I continue he will escort me from the premises. Never HAVE I EVER had this problem, mind you there were about 15-20 other people in there. And others on their phones that you could see plain as day and a group of teens being obnoxious and talking to whole movie but never had anything said to them..?! Through the next hour and half he stood at the exit ramp watching me literally and walked past me at least twice to make his presence know. The rules say refrain if you can from using phones not you're not allowed too. REFRAIN VS. DO NOT are two different things, and if you would like to argue the fact I have a screenshot of your rules. Moral of the story is God for bid anyone reads a text or looks at their phone and then is constantly harassed through the hole movie when they aren't doing anything wrong. Meanwhile, you have other patrons being obnoxious and doing whatever. At the end of the movie I walk into the hallway where he and some of his other co-workers are waiting for the theater to clear out to clean it out. I overheard them talking and one girl points at me and goes is that the one that was on her phone and he goes yeah. You should teach your workers to be more discreet and not to be rude. Then they continue to talk about people as they came out of the...
