I genuinely love and enjoy going to Perkatory Coffee Roasters and have never had an issue with service or my orders. However, this past Sunday, I was very disappointed by my experience. I went in to grab a treat for myself and my fiancé, but the person at the register seemed more interested in socializing than serving customers. She was engaged in a personal conversation with friends about scheduling for 3-4 minutes, completely ignoring the growing line of customers, including myself. This made me feel like my time and business weren't valued. This went on for about 3-4 minutes before another employee, who was already busy with other tasks, had to step away to acknowledge the growing line and tell us they'd be with us shortly. All the while, the original employee continued her conversation, seemingly oblivious to the line she was creating. I was surprised and concerned by the lack of attention to the customers waiting, especially as the line grew. As someone who appreciates small businesses, I was disappointed to witness this. I hope that future experiences at Perkatory will reflect the same positive service I've always enjoyed in the past. I truly value Perkatory and hope this was an isolated incident. I look forward to returning soon and having a more...
Read moreI have been here many times but today will probably be my last. I had a horrible experience here today. Me and my partner ordered our coffees. I had to ask for milk twice and the cashier caught a small attitude since she apparently didn't hear me the first time. But that's whatever. What upset me was that there are two buckets on the counter. One says "tips" and one says "go fish". We figured the "go fish" bucket was similar to a take-a-penny-leave-a-penny system that many businesses have to make the total come to an even number. I always like to support small businesses by using cash, but I hate having a pocket full of change. Anyway the cashier got really nasty about us trying to use a penny from the bucket. Then the cashier was talking bad about us to the other workers while we were standing right there waiting for our drinks!! I don't know why that bucket says "go fish" on it, but it's very misleading and resulted in us having a very bad experience. My partner was also very upset at the experience we were given today. Loss of loyal customers over that...
Read moreI have been to this location a few times (as well as their other location in Middletown). The industrial and punk rock vibe combined with interesting drink specials make this a worthwhile stop. You can even pick up merch and beans while you are here.
We got the "Black Flag on Sesame Street" iced latte (black sugar syrup and sesame milk) and "Wizard Wake Up" iced latte (special for the Harry Potter Day 07/30/22, butterscotch). Both were better than expected and I was most surprised by how delicate, savory, and overall delicious the "Black Flag on Sesame Street" iced latte.
There is minimal seating inside that includes a pair of leather chairs next to a fake fireplace and a bar, though there is additional seating in the main area between the shops inside of...
