Five of us had dinner here the other night. One of my friends made reservations, however, when we arrived, the place was almost empty. Several more people arrived for dinner.

The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated with fake cherry trees.

We had wonderful service by Sophia, a sweet young woman.

Tony and I had a couple of appetizers (pork eggrolls and fried kimchi dumplings). We expected more flavors in the dumplings, but it was bland. We do love kimchi. The eggrolls were very good.

For my entrée, I had the Thai basil with beef; Tony had the garlic sauce with pork. Both were very good and flavorful. We both had white rice to go with our entrees.

My friends ordered an assortment of appetizers (shrimp dumplings, fried shrimp shumai, and Shanghai pork dumplings. They said everything was good.

We felt the prices were reasonable, although there are some other dishes on the high end.

The menu could be updated. While there's a photo for each dish, some are misleading if you don't read it carefully. For example, the Veggie rolls are a serving of 2, yet the photo shows 7. She Shanghai pork dumpling are a serving of 4, but the photo shows 8.

I would definitely return here. Great service and...

Wonderful staff, truly not great food.

Gentle reader, you may want to verbally check what is added to the meal you are ordering. Some items are listed, some are not (like jalapeños). 🥵

If you want your vegetables NOT raw, perhaps request that? I didn’t believe my hubs when he said, “all of these vegetables are literally raw.” I CRUNCHED a bell pepper and a zucchini. (Zucchini aren’t crunchy, you may be thinking. Somehow, they are here. It’s reverse cooking!) I was like man, I wish I had some ranch to dip this in! Then at least there would be some flavor.

The flavor. What flavor? Lol. When the hubs said, “I can taste the rice,” I was like: no way. Dear reader, yes way. We were like, “oh those other commenters just have weird taste buds.” Nope! They have taste buds that appear to be in working order.

Other than that, it’s a great place. It just opened, so maybe these are just growing pains. I think they care about the business. And it could be a great addition to South Port.

Maybe order something small to see if improvements in the food have been made… We are now out $34—hopefully you...

Visiting from Philly. The store owners truly did a wonderful job renovating the building and even a city girl like myself can enjoy it. Very clean and well maintained environment. The food was also appetizing and wonderful. Most importantly, they were fresh. I’m considered pretty picky with my food and can usually taste the difference between if the food was stored well or not, especially the seafood. I ordered mostly appetizers (highly recommending the veggie roll and dumplings. The red bean bun was also very cute and generous with the filling). Afterwards, we also had some entrees. The noodles and curry was wonderful. My friend ordered the hibachi and she loved it. The steak inside was cooked just right. We ended up taking a good portion of our food home, which shows about their generous portions. We’re traveling and wanted to sample quite a bit and couldn’t help ourselves so spent quite a bit but I imagine $20-$30/person would be what we’re looking at for someone who just stopped by for a nice meal or two. Overall, would come back again and...

I was surprised by what they were able to do with the place, considering what it used to be. The menu looks great and has a lot to choose from. Unfortunately, everything I ate was very bland and lacked the flavor and spice I was hoping from the kind of food it was. I tried 6 different menu items, and for the price, I'm just not seeing the value. Pho is a favorite of mine I was excited to try, but the broth tasted like bean sprout juice more than anything else. The flavors of the other foods like the coconut curry, shanghai dumplins, Kimchi dumplings, and mixed vegi with chicken were there but muted. The inside is very nice. The wait staff were very nice and attentive, but stretched a bit thin. Yummy house has take out, drive through options, and a little kiosk by the door you can order food from if you don't want to sit. So far I can say the place has potential. It was the grand opening, so my opinion could change as time goes on, and I will change the review if that's the case. For right now, though, you are better off getting Indichines down the road.
