This was my first time going to Murrietas. We had sat down and got immediate attention and our drinks came out quick. My horchata was watery and tasted like watered down milk. I ignored it and kept to myself. We were given chips and salsa, one regular chunky salsa had great flavor and the other reminded me of enchilada sauce (it tasted bitter and was unappealing ) I had ordered the Crab Enchiladas, my mom ordered the Carne Asada Fajitas and my daughter ordered a cheeseburger (thought it was strange for a mexican restaurant to offer burgers on the Ninos kids menu) but back to my experience. I had asked the waitress (julie) if it was popular, she informed me it was of their best seafood dishes. Took them almost 40 minutes to serve us our food but I wasn't complaining because I thought it was going to be absolutely delicious. Well I took one bite and thought it had a great mushroom sauce... took some more bites and boom... imitation crabš±.. opened my enchilada up because I figured maybe they mixed imitation with real but nope! They were even skimpy on the imitation crab. As you could imagine I felt fooled and disappointed. So I decided to try the rice.. All I could taste was salt. Tried the beans.. they were okay but really no flavor and kind of watery. Took a bite of my mom's Carne Asada and it wasn't bad but I got a chunk of fat. Looked at my daughter's cheeseburger and the meat wasn't even fresh. Took a bite of her cheeseburger and here we go again.. another chunk of fat. I am very disappointed with Murrietas and will not be going back. I kept my mouth shut while I was there and that's not like me but I'd rather let anyone who reads Google comments (like I do) to be prepared just in case your experience is like mine. If you do eat here I hope you have a wonderful experience and not end up spending over $50 just to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile I understand the current economic climate, I felt my experience was underwhelming. Party of five on a Friday evening I know you can have a wait so that is not part of my review. The chips were stale and lacking flavor as if they were just poured out of a bag that was left open for a week or so. My carnitas quesadilla was lacking flavor as well. My wife had Shrimp Ceviche which was presented in a large bowl and only 3-4 very small tostada chips. The ceviche had so many jalapenos chopped in it which made it so overpowering and not edible to anyone at our table. I was going to have it taken away and redone or taken off the bill, but my wife thought maybe it would get better if we take it home. Even if I wanted to get her something else to eat or some tostada chips with her meal, it was probably not going to happen. The reason I bring this last part into the review was service, or lack of. Our waitress only there to take the order and bring the check. Nobody ever came back to take her drink order as she told the waitress she was still looking at the drink menu. I finished my Pacifica cerveza even before my quesadilla arrived, I would have liked a few more or even a margarita (not frozen) which is what my wife decided on too. So unfortunately this restaurant lost out on some pretty good profit margin on drinks since the waitress never came back except to bring the check. My wife did leave a generous tip, because she knows how difficult the service industry can be. As we just returned from Mexico and we missed the food, so we decided to come back to one of our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMan, I've eaten here 3 times now and each time is a little worse. Tonight takes the cake though. Met some friends here tonight and sat and chatted for a bit. It got busy and we had a little bit of a wait for our food but we didn't mind since we were having good conversation. Our Chimichungas were a little over cooked but again no biggie, better than being undercooked! What has me avoiding this place like the plague is the fact our waiter took our payments then asked us to leave after we didn't leave right away. stating "we are busy and need this table" I looked and no one was waiting. I can't believe someone would have the gall to ask paying customers to leave, who didn't cause a stir, who were minding their own business having conversations with friends. We left and realized NOT ONE table was being used outside, and it was a beautiful night so we sat down to continue our conversation.. the staff kept walking outside and looking at us like we were causing them issues when we just wanted to finish our talk and enjoy friends... after all I drove from over 60 miles to see my 2 friends and have dinner I should be able to let my food go down before getting on the road home again. I don't know why we were treated this way.. I love waitressing, I love Customer service. I know how not to treat these workers. We all had soda or water so you know we weren't being obnoxious drunks. It was completely rude. I won't be spending my hard earned money here again...
