I can't believe I have lived here for over 30 years and have never been to one of their locations. This is a popular local Mom and Pop restaurant. Reservations are a good idea. Mom and Pop businesses are the back bone of our country. This is probably where the comfy feel and down home hospitality comes from. I also felt like this was kind of like Disneyland where you can find the Hidden Mickey's. I found myself looking to see how many Pinocchio's I could find. How many can you spot?
Located on Vista Blvd across from the Spanish Springs Center and is actually located inside Vista Village.
While we were waiting we started talking to a couple that comes at least every month. They gave us lots of advice.
Apparently every Friday their special is ribs that have been smoked all day long. Andy and Cami (she was in training) waited upon us. They were super kind, professional and very busy. Hoping that the owners give them Kudo's.
My husband and I both ordered the lasagna and my daughter had JP's Chicken. My husband and I both thought the Lasagna was good. The portions were large. I did have some texture problems with mine as there was a large hard chunk of pasta in mine. My daughter however loved and adored her chicken and veggie. Our meals came with a nice salad and tasty bread. We did order the...
Β Β Β Read moreI'm really surprised by the good reviews of food here. The food is not good and it's so expensive. I went here last night with my husband and two other people for a reservation at 7:45. I ordered fish and chips and husband got ravioli. My fish was so fishy I almost sent it back but didn't want to look rude in front of the other people we were with. The ravioli my husband had was so bland and it was sitting in water. Like they didn't strain it good enough. I did order extra crispy fries which they were. The waitress sure made us feel super rushed to order and leave. She also was wearing one of those glitter/crystal masks that you can kind of see through because the material is like mesh. I thought that was off seeing she was serving us food. I know we're in a pandemic but just wear an appropriate mask especially around food. My husband and I each had one beer and the entree and the bill was $65 before tip. So expensive for frozen food. It surely wasn't fresh and wouldn't...
Β Β Β Read moreIβve tried this restaurant twice, and both times itβs been the WORST place Iβve ever eaten, had to make sure the fist time was not me or a fluke!!!
The food was BLAND to say the least! The potatoes with the Prime Rib where so covered with Garlic you couldnβt taste them, and I LOVE garlic. The chowder, call it by your restaurant name or not, IS NOT chowder itβs SOUP, with an over kill of Oregano!! The βSea Food Ravioliβ was NOTHING to right home about, to the point it was not worth eating half of it and putting a couple shrimp and under cooked scallops on a plate doesnβt mean its sea food!!
The ONLY thing about this place I liked was our server, who was GREAT and I feel sorry she has to put this stuff on the table, as it was not her fault and she was GREAT, and although the βmangerβ did take some off the bill, we tipped the server on the original amount, I asked what it was to make sure she got what she deserved.
Iβd give this place a minus 5 star score if the app...
