I have been meaning to try this place for awhile now. People on Reddit rave about it(that's what I get for listening to redditors ha ha)and today I was in the neighborhood and decided to give it try. My first clue should of been the parking lot which is a disaster. The drive-thru is a different entrance( and it is not open by the way, no matter what is says on the internet) which I realized too late and had to exit, and turn into a different parking lot only to find out it was closed and wind up parking where I was in the first place. Anyways I saw that they had breakfast burritos all day and decided to try one. When the employee came to take my order, I asked her if they did indeed serve them all day, and she seemed annoyed by it, but told me yes. I wonder if I ordered the wrong thing? My food took a long time, and I watched several other people get their orders, even a guy who ordered 10 minutes after me. When I finally got my order, I asked for salsa, and the employee handed me a plastic bag(i assume for the salsa bar) but they were out, so I just left instead of pestering the staff(since they did not seem friendly), and I was ready to get out of there. When I got home, I was dismayed to see that my tortilla was super greasy, and the eggs were slightly undercooked. It was just very unappetizing. With so many taqueria options in Reno. I see no reason to go back to this place, and I'm confused about some of the...
Read moreI love this place! Food is so good and the owners are so friendly. It is a very clean establishment. My only complaint is the cashier named Edith (name on my receipt). I have been several times and she always has an attitude, is hesitant to get my water cup, leaves things off my order, and truly makes me feel like I am a burden. The other day I stool waiting to order while she talked to a friend in the dining area for an uncomfortable amount of time. I asked for my food to be eaten there, and she confirmed it was “for here”. I don’t have anywhere else to eat my lunch, so i kindly asked tor a fork that was not included in my togo and the water cup I had previously ordered. She deliberately took her time getting it and looked at me with disgust. Today was the fourth time Ive had a negative experience with her. I spent many years working in the industry and I know first hand how hard it can be to work a service industry job full time. No matter how nice I am to her and patient, she looks at me like she wishes I would leave. I will not stop eating here, or tipping her 20%. I am hoping my persistent kindness will rub off on her.II am writing this by chance the owners see this, because she is not friendly, kind, happy or good at making sure orders are as they should. The food is still worth the...
Read moreThis is without a doubt, the best and most authentic Mexican food I've ever tasted. My husband and I went out on a date and were trying new places for eating out. At first we were skeptical because it seemed like such a hole in the wall type place but upon eating the first bite of tacos and the appetizer of chips with Pico de Gallo, our minds were instantly changed. Everything was fresh, the spices and seasonings were popping and brought out the flavors. I had some Carne Asada and it was the best I've ever had. The steak was so juicy, even with being cooked well done. Each cut into the steak enveloped me with such amazing aromas that it made the whole experience all the better. Though the onion looked like it had been burnt was actually cooked well and the beans tasted fresh, not just from the money saving can. The corn tortillas were fresh and turned my mind from thinking that flour tortillas were the only tortillas worth eating. Nothing was greasy. The prices were affordable and the staff were wonderful. We left after giving a large tip and a promise to be back again soon. This is definitely our new favorite and a gentle reminder to never judge a book...
