The Spot: Dim Sum and Boba — Restaurant in Sparks

Wow, that was disappointing. Just couldn't get across "water with no ice." And the buns are indeed microwaved – tough from the moment they hit the table. What a waste. Wait-service was friendly, but without strong enough English to deal with any special requests. Never again. Addendum: my friend says she went there two years ago, and it was great! The woman who ran “the spot“ inside the Chinese restaurant was talking about moving somewhere else closer to town. So, probably she did, and now the reduced dim sum menu is just done freezer to microwave by the restaurant. If anybody knows where she went, please say. Maybe she opened the Dim Sum and Boba Hut on Moana, which is really great...

Dumplings are frozen at best. I walked in and the lady asked what I was picking up. I told her and she said I was at the wrong place. I told her the address and she said that I was at the right address. I said I was picking up dumplings from “The Spot” and she just stared at me like I was an idiot. I then showed her my receipt and finally she said oh yeah we might have your order. The experience was awful and the food was worse. I should have just handed that $50 bill to the nearest dumpster because I just got ripped off. I honestly can’t think of a time I’ve had...

The building is in a shopping mall, but its obviously been here a while. Its also connected to a sushi place, which is awesome because dimsum and sushi go together like shoes and laces! I digress. The appearance of the place is less impressive than the food its self, as the food was a well rounded gathering of flavors mixed with service from the owner of The Spot, herself and it just turned out to be an excellent experience. Over all, 5/5 stars. The only thing it was maybe lacking in was its old school design of the entire resturant...
