I have never walked the red carpet nor am I famous. However, tonight's service made me feel as if I and my family were famous. As always ambience is charming, classy and romantic.
I felt as if we were a stars in some incredible foodie movie scene. We had the outstanding luck to have Khan as our waiter. He is unbelievable. He takes his job serious and treats everyone with the utmost care and kindness. I don't remember the name of the other waiter who served us. I really wish I did. Khan and the other gentleman treated us with such outstanding service that I can not RAVE enough about them.
We came here to celebrate my sons birthday! This is his favorite restaurant. Of course he got his favorite dish Prime Rib! The meal here tonight was OUT OF THIS WORLD OUTSTANDING in every way. The flavors were beyond divine and delicious. The food hit your tongue and your taste buds were singing praises to the cook. I am not kidding. The delicate luscious flavors made your head spin. We got 2 appetizers. We got our favorite Zucchini planks and coconut shrimp. The were both unique and tasty. Even the bread had such distinct delicious flavor we couldn't stop eating it.
Half of the table got soup the other half got salad. The soup was Navy Bean Ham. While the soup was good I think I would have preferred the salad. The intermezzo tonight was a blood orange. I think I could have had a meal of just this. So delectable and ambrosial.
My daughter and I split the Chateaubriand. I was a little disappointed that they did not carve this table side as the menu said. This was not that big a deal. Our Chateaubriand was cooked to perfection. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law both got a chicken dish.My husband got his standby Halibut. It was out of this world. As a matter of fact we are all still talking about the service and the flavor of the food. OMG I wish I was a competent writer that I could completely describe the outstanding delectable flavors and service. This is by far one of the best meals as well as some of the best service we have ever received. Because of the exquisite scrumptiousness (not sure that this is a word, if it's not it should be) of every bite you find that you eat more than is comfortable.
We then were honored with Diane in making our Coffee Diablo for three and our very favorite dessert of all time Bananas Foster. Both these items are a theatrical show in and of themselves. Diane is a true FOODIE artist. These items are so beautiful and artistic. If you have not had either of these items they are a must try at least once in your life. I had forgotten how strong Coffee Diablo is. The Banana Foster is such a delicacy it really is a must try.
To our servers Diane, Khan and the wonderful gentleman who served us: Thank you so much for honoring us with your distinguished and outstanding service and allowing us to fill our stomachs with such...
Read moreI hate leaving bad reviews on food. Because I believe that even bad food has a reason. But not in this case…
First off.. Phong was my server. He wasn’t very nice. I think he immediately pegged us as ghetto because of how we look (tattoos… etc).. anyway, we arrived at the restaurant a few minutes before our reservation. It was my friends husbands birthday. We had told them ahead of time when we made our reservation. When we were seated we were handed iPads… I knew it was gonna be downhill from there. The lady behind us was watching TikTok on her phone so loud we couldn’t hardly understand what the people across from us were saying. We were asked if we wanted drinks by our busser. He was great! But he couldn’t serve alcohol so we had to wait for phong. About 15 min later he came and took our drink order and we made him take our appetizer order then because we knew we were in for the long haul. The drinks came out after about 20 min. And 15 min later our appetizers. We then had to wait for phong to come back to order our food. By then our guests needed refills. When phong came back he quickly took our orders, didn’t ask if we wanted sides or any more bread.. but he ordered our entrees. We had to find him to order our sides. About 40 or so minutes later our food came. It was so damn bland and my steak and my husbands steaks were wrong. I always ask for mine med rare and he asks for med well. Both of our steaks were rare but one side was burnt. Our friends were pretty buzzed by this point so they didn’t care. They just wanted food. I ended up not eating my food and bringing it home and recooking and seasoning it. My husband fed his to my dog. The friends also boxed theirs up… we are all really big eaters and none of us finished our food. Or even made a dent for that matter. Thank god there was salad. Mind you, our tab for just the 4 of us was almost $600.
There was no wine list brought, there was no champagne offered, no photo (I’ve been here before okay I know how this works), and the service was absolutely awful. We still tipped $100 because we wanted to make it known that we’re not trying to get over on anyone. But it was the second worst restaurant experience I’ve had. Now if it were a diner snd I was paying diner prices, it would be fine, but if I’m spending money I want good service, or even halfway would be okay.
I’d like to thank the busser for being so on top of it and keeping us sidetracked when we couldn’t find our server. Anyway… I’m a local and I’ve always referred my clients here. I won’t...
Read moreWe went in for a birthday party on 8/20/18 and I was hungry, looking forward to some prime rib. Maybe we caught a bad night, but we were truly SHOCKED by sub par level of food. I ordered prime rib and my girlfriend ordered the ravioli special. We both tasted the prime rib and realized it had a mealy almost old flavor to it. Sincerely I have had prime rib from the old Silver Club that was in a different universe better. The veggies had a stiff nature but weren't overcooked (microwave possibly). Nearly all of the plate now that I think about it had an odd sugar type grit to it. On a positive note, the wine was excellent and they serve Chimay Red for $7 bottle which is a great deal. The ravioli dish was heavy with lemon flavor and again some odd hint of a sweet sugary type ingredient. Honestly we were truly at a loss as to how what we have heard to be one of Reno's best could be slightly above a Denny's level. After fighting our way in and out of an incredibly smoky casino floor, we both unanimously decided to cross that one off the list and that somewhere the kitchen must have jumped the shark. Don't do it, you will regret the $70 mistake immensely. Service was decent by the way, although our server had at least 4 good size tables going. Ambiance was nice once passed the smoky casino floor. So many great options in Reno, that will not be on our list of to do's again. Side note, we sent the raviolis back (first time in years to send a dish back and said a replacement would not be necessary); at the end of dinner another ravioli plate came out without the lemon base and the waiter insisted we give it a taste (expecting something similar to La Strada hopefully) and honestly it was more like a chicken pot pie flavor. Sincerely sorry to bring this news, but this was truly our experience. The waiter asked if we wanted to box the fresh dish and we embarrassingly declined. The salad was exceptional and bread was decent. The photo lady was sweet and took a...
