This is a former Holiday Inn, spruced up a little, but the room AC is the same. Loud and louder, but turn if off and the room quickly heats up. The air in the hotel is perfumed, a sweet disinfectant odor, but you get used to it. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is clean, the water is hot. You have to ask to get the towels changed. There is one corkscrew at the desk if you ask for it and none in the room. The free breakfast is OK, just like one I had in Barstow. maybe exactly the same. The elevators are slow, you have time to make new friends. No food service the restaurant was closed for "health reasons". But do not fear, around the corner just past the taco place is an "independently owned Denny's. The greeter and the wait staff are very pleasant and friendly, breakfast was filling. But OH my friends the dirt. The light from the window was perfect for seeing the smears, splashes, bits, trails and fingerprints of many previous diners and their children. Speaking of dirt, your car will be covered in gritty dirt by morning. Grit, you can feel it when you clean the windshield. The hotel is located very close to the freeway, next to a truck depot, not far from the tracks and very close to a fuel depot YOu won't hear the trucks, but they do spoil the view. The ultra bright security lighting nearby will distract you from the distant, very distant scenery.
A placard warns you to be nice when using the free wifi. If you read the privacy statement you will discover that the provider will record every site you visit and track your keystrokes, and presumably read your msgs. Now you know what all of those VPN ads are for. You might feel that I did not enjoy my two night stay, and you would be correct. AC should be felt and not heard. Rooms should have a corkscrew, and wifi should be private. Restaurants should not be closed for health reasons. Elevators should not be old and slow. But the people were friendly and the bed was comfortable, except that the TV remote did not work unless you sat up and moved to the foot of the bed.
Perhaps unfairly I had the feeling that the rooms on the higher floors were not were available and not used except for overflow emergencies.
Would I stay there again? Are you kidding me? Two nights of sleep deprivation...

We were in the process of returning from a funeral with a trailer in tow. When myfather received his little paper slip telling him his room number a circle was drawn around, "I am taking one parking space." Or something to that effect. Concerned, my father approached the front counter and was told he had to park his trailer in an adjacent lot where it would not be visible from the hotel security cameras let alone his room. I approached the counter myself and pointed out that there was a semi truck with a trailer parked in the parking lot (not pictured) along with several other trailers and their towing vehicle. The woman behind the counter informed me she had no ability to enforce it andmade excuses for the railway truck parked across two spaces along with their trailer taking a third.
In order to not have our belongings stolen from the trailer, I opted to drive it home that night. I did not get to see my grandmother off at the airport as a result. It could very easily be the last time I saw her.
I had a chance to see the room and hotel before leaving. The decor was some sort of tacky attempt at reliving the seventies. Like the recent unfortunate switch from comfort inn to best western left it's face sagging on one side. Signs requiring that you mask up were at each entrance like bruises on an abused partner, reminding us to alienate and distrust all other patrons.
We do not plan to be patrons at this establishment ever again. What's more, anytime we have friends and family visit us, we will not be utilizing a hotel chain that treats patrons so poorly. If we could have, we would have simply asked for our money back and found another place. But because the hospitality business is so backwards, we would have lost the money put down and had to pay for another room elsewhere.
Photos included show some of the double parked patrons who were permitted to remain on the premises while we were told to take our...
Read moreMy husband called in to get my kids and I a room here early morning last week. We had a traumatic experience during our vacation that led to us heading back home pretty abruptly and he wasn’t with us, so he called and asked for early check in for me. Sam at the front desk said he had a room and my husband told me to call and book it. I called, paid, and Sam asked if we could fit comfortably in the size room he offered. I said yes, had my 5 little ones with me, two being under 2 years old and my other 3 under 10 years old. Everything seemed fine so I headed there to check in and grab our room key. I’m checking in with Bruna I believe at the front desk, and she hands me a receipt to sign before I get my parking pass and my room key. I sign but notice it only says 1 guest. I tell Bruna that I booked the room for my kids and I, had already explained that to Sam, and she asks how many kids I have and their ages. I answer and she says it’s fine, and proceeds to hand me the room key and parking pass. We grab our stuff and get to the room and I get a phone call. It’s the manager, who proceeds to tell me that Bruna said I lied about how many kids I had to get the room. I was so confused, and tried to say that I definitely let Sam and Bruna both know. The manager says she knows but Bruna told her I intentionally withheld that info until I was handed the room key. I was livid, it was a lie and the phone call was rude and unprofessional. She told me lying is wrong, that I wouldn’t get away with it again in a sense, that she would let it go this time but I was wrong and creating a fire hazard. I had no idea about any of that, would have gladly booked a bigger room if that was hotel policy, and did not lie to anyone about anything. Next morning Bruna checked us out and could barely make eye contact, also notice they added on an extra occupancy fee. Think i’ve written like 5 reviews total in my life, usually ignore negative experiences, but this...
