Monterrey Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Spencer

I've been coming here for years. Until I moved a little farther away about 2 years ago. Well this is my first time here since they switched owners.

We got out free chips, they were cold and burnt. Asked for another one and same deal except found black crisp and burnt ones. White sauce was cold. Salsa had no flavor. Onions had no taste and we never got our queso dip.

Then we ordered our food. Was supposed to get a chicken taco salad and got steak. Then was supposed to get a chicken Quesadilla with sautéed onions and extra cheese. They bring it with white sauce as the "extra" cheese when I clearly said inside of it. Also my onions were raw on top. I sent it back and it comes back with the white sauce just scrapped off and onions added cooked ones. The other guy ordered and his food was not even hot.

Asked for our ticked. Got it and it was 49 dollars. So I looked at it. He tried to charge me for 2 extra meals that no one even ordered. I told him and got re ticket again and he then tried to charge me for 2 things of white sauce and also my meal which I told him I didn't want after 2 times screwing up. He finally fixed it and even if I would have paid for my food it was still 20 dollars cheaper.

Never eating there again. Makes me sad that this used to be my favorite. Clearly they should have never...

We're picky eaters, but we enjoyed our visit here. The food was good, the service was fast, but left a little to be desired. Ordered a simple dish that had an option of tortillas to come with it and I mentioned I would like the tortillas. It was brought to me without, but the waiter kindly asked if I wanted them and I said yes, then still never received them. I stated it as clearly as possible, but it wasn't a deal breaker for me anyways. Atmosphere left a little to be desired as well. If you just want quick service and a good meal then this place is just fine. If you enjoy a great experience to go along with the meal then you might be better off elsewhere.

Very small drawbacks for what seems to be an otherwise well-run...

We used to go all the time and now I know why we quit. 1st Our waitress walked away when we were ordering drinks, like really? The table buster kept slamming dishes around with enough force to start breaking them... Then we had another person join our table only for him to be ignored. I had let the hostess know another joined our group and if she could let someone know. Guess not cause The whole staff then ignored our table we ended up migrating to the bar hoping to get one more round of drinks and maybe some food for our late arriving friend but nope. Completely ignored by everyone. I'm not only embarrassed for taking my group of friends her but also embarrassed for this restaurant. Food sucks and so does...
