China 1 Buffet — Restaurant in Spencer

NO. . . Beware!! {Haven’t been here in well over 20 years, always heard bad things about this place, & decided to give them the benefit of the doubt anyways!} I came in agreeing to the expectation to leave a tip.

Here’s what happened: I noticed right away there was a mountain/cart, full of leftovers and dirty dishes. Some flies buzzing around that as well in very close quarters of the actual buffet and where we’d be sitting. (It’s a small location). Anyways, I loved the menu options and service. The lady who came to us was very nice and smiling, happy to help take down our order. Great! I couldn’t leave a tip because after getting our food, EVERYTHING was super cold. 👀 ‼️ ⚠️ The sushi was amazing, which I got for myself and they’re like literally 5X bigger than regular sushi anywhere else. ALL other food was literally colder if not, just as cold as my sushi! So that was not quite what I had planned on eating. Thankfully I got full quick off sushi and left after paying. China One was my only option when Chen’s in town was closed. Growing up with Asian family, I know good, quality food and this is far from it. This food was absolutely foul. I threw over $35 worth of take out in the garbage. The food was way too salty, the wontons in the soup were rubbery and tough, egg rolls tasted like an old cream was in it... I can go on. That was my first and last time getting food from here. Don’t waste your time or money. If you want good Chinese in Spencer, go to Chen’s. If you’re willing to drive a little ways out, hibachi 88 in spirit lake or One and One in Arnold’s Park are very good. Chinese buffets are my favorite go to restaurant. I've never been here before the other day & I will never go back. The total was 55$ for two adults and a 7 year old. Not to mention nobody came to take our stack of plates. The small selection of food they did have was partially cold and had obviously been sitting out for awhile being some parts were stale and hard. The restaurant itself was very dark lit. No natural sunlight whatsoever. And it was so dirty and unappealing to the eye. Also, the boba was THE WORST ive ever had. Not sure how they pass health inspection. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME...
