Mexican food is my favorite food and a majority of it great. Tex-Mex is is a decent spin-off with most of it good to great as well. TJ's is mid to upper level fast-food Tex-Mex so when I say I like most of the stuff at TJ's don't forget to do the math and know it means I like up to 75% of the menu well enough and eat it with some regularity but that's partly due to where I live not having many latin options and nothing authentic enough around the lakes to take TJ's off my list of viable options for Mexican food and yes that includes the overrated, overpriced, and always too full of and too ready to comprise for white people Taco House and probably the best Mexican restaurant in town even tho too much vanilla in it as well Los Pueblos. Factoring in the drive thru makes TJ's the place I go most often in the lakes when I want a taco. If I'm at home tho the Expressway in Windom makes a decent enough taco or if I'm driving to get a taco worthington is closer with far better taco slingers and su falls is only a little further of a drive also with far better taco benders in...

Stopped in for a meal and found out that the restaurant was take-out only... on a Friday afternoon???
Staff didn't say why the dining room is closed, just that all orders must be to go. And, apparently some condiments like salsa are now a "charged item", no longer complimentary. A small (I mean really small) cup of salsa is $0.40, and extra sauce packets are a quarter apiece.
The staff were friendly-ish but not really helpful... didn't explain anything and seemed totally indifferent to my questions. Granted, Covid-19 has reeked unbridled havoc on the service industry - so I kinda understand that many employees are fed up - but still... "I don't know" cannot be your mantra for every single question or concern.
Thank God the food is still pretty darn good, albeit very expensive for mediocre service and no free condiments. I guess this is the New...

Unprofessional, discourteous staff. Inedible food, unable to accept responsibility for a simple mistake. Go the extra few miles to Spencer and go to Taco Bell.
This place has been horrible for years, the store manager Wanda needs to be fired. She has no clue on how to run a restuarant. Pathetic service, terrible food, bad attitude. Not the makings of a success.
If you want to get food poisoning, Taco John's is Spirit Lake is probably the best...
