Okay, the biggest problem in the inland PNW is finding acceptable Mexican food. We all know Taco Bell and Del Taco are to Mexocan food what microwavable burgers are to a real burger. They may taste acceptable when half drunk or high, but they aren't the real thing, right? That's what nearly every Mexican place in Spokane is like, hopped up Taco Bell, or so greasy you need a sponge to eat it with. El Sazon Birrieria is the real deal. They serve food that ACTUALLY TASTES GOOD, isn't dripping with grease, and has FLAVOR! You know you are in the right place when most of the people eating there speak Spanish as a first or native language. The smells are incredible! And the Trompo....oh, dear gods in heavens, the Trompo! Their Asada is awesome! I haven't had a single thing I didn't like. My personal favorite? Troppo fries. Seasoned fries with huge amounts of Trompo, beans, cheese, sauce, sour cream, and jalapeños. And it's a BIG plate! Now, it's not exactly cheap food. Expect to pay $14 a person at a minimum. But is it worth it? Yes, dear gods, yes! So do yourself a favor and go...

First off " Spokane need an upgrade in mexican food" Secondly the food was bomb asf. I got the " tacos de cueritos" ( pork skin) and the quesa Birria with extra consomme broth. The tacos de cueritos hit the spot. I only have 3 favorite restaurants here and this is now my 4th favorite 😍. Btw I got mine through doordash sooo I can't really grade my experience in the restaurant yet....UPDATE soooo recently they been using compostable eco friendly paper to go containers for delivery and I usually ask for extra cilantro, onions, salsa with my "tacos carnitas cueritos" AND usually they are pretty neat about it & don't overdue it with the extra toppings, BUT this time they purposely & intentionally overloaded them out of spite & was extremely messy using the white paper compostable to go boxes for my tacos instead of the aluminum which they always use!!!! Sooo beware if you ask for extra toppings on tacos next time you order for delivery, they usually never do that. Good food but they're getting knocked down a star for being intentionally messy and...

Absolutely blown away. I’ve been bartending and managing restaurants in Denver for 30 years—I know good food when I taste it. And this? Hands-down the best Birria I’ve ever had. Five stars isn’t enough. I’ll be coming back regularly, no doubt about it. Also, a drive through even. Hell yeah.

💡 To the owners: I say this with all respect and admiration: your portion sizes are incredibly generous—borderline too generous. You’ve nailed the flavor and quality, so don't give it away. Tighten your portion control and give nothing away free. I want to see this place thrive, and you absolutely deserve to. You do NOT have to compete with Atlanos. Your blowing them out of the water in flavor and quality.

🔥 I ordered the Vampiro. It was loaded—with enough meat for two servings—and only $6. For comparison? Two sad tacos at Taco Bell cost the same, and those barely come with an ounce of meat. Yours are bold, rich, and unforgettable.

👏 Don’t sell yourself short. Keep the quality, tighten the margins, and this place will be legendary and sustainable for...

Some food was good and some was ok. I got 4 queso birria tacos with rice and beans, Verde enchiladas with rice and beans, a single asada taco, a single trompo taco and a drink. My order was $53. The queso birria tacos had a good flavor, but they were soggy. Maybe if they didn't shove all 4 of them in a small plate they would of kept their crispness or if I ate at the restaurant. The single tacos were ok, I liked the trompo flavor better. The tortillas were dry and falling apart though. The Verde enchiladas were ok. The sauce didn't look or taste Verde to me. It seemed like there was more chicken juice than Verde sauce. The rice and beans were really good, though. The sauces tasted ok and the soda was fizzy and good. UPDATE: we tried it again we got 3 queso birria tacos with rice and beans, and a kids birria pizza plate. The tacos were crisper, then the first time, which was great. But 2 out of 3 of the tacos were mostly fat and gristle. That sucked because they are $5.21 a piece. The kids plate was good though. So I still keep it 3 out of 5 stars.

Tired of the gringo fare your Grammy likes? You will very much enjoy this new place in the Valley. They're from the Tri-Cities, and while they're not our favorite stop down there while visiting, they represent well an area that's not afraid to make the cuisine as if the populace was 90% Mex. I should be thrilled they're here now, right? I guess I am, but one glaring error prevents me from my highest rating. While ordering, I asked the manager why they didn't have Buche on the menu like their Pasco/Kennewick restos, and his eyes lit up and said, 'Of course we have Buche!' Well, that made my Burrito order quite easy to request; but when my lunch came, it was clearly evident that he thought they could pass off pork carnitas as Buche--and the novice guy might not notice. Sadly, that's the impression I came away with, being the two meat cuts are distinctly different. One is a muscle, the other an organ. However, I'm sure that we'll visit again, but I am not a fan of misrepresentation...
