Comfort food abounds. I was finally able to stop in. The place is small and not really in a location right off the highway where you'd expect a restaurant to be. It has a small parking lot out front and to the side. This may have been an old service station at one time as the bathroom is located outside around the back. There's outdoor and small indoor seating. Inside is comfortable but dark as they could use some more lighting overall or just table lamps. Perhaps putting in some windows in the back wall would get some light in and make the space seem more open. Better yet...how about a garage door style that could open onto a covered patio area in Summer? Food for thought. LOL They have a pretty large selection on the menu as you can see in the pix. I'd like to return to try breakfast sometime. I'm not sure if it's just me and that I haven't been going out as much to notice the food price increase but it did seem a bit high for what it is. Although, my bacon cheeseburger was very tasty and the waitress even asked how I'd like my burger cooked. The bacon was crisp and not chewy. The fries are shoestring cut fries and would have been a whole lot better if they weren't over salted so perhaps ask for no salt and add your own. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying not to go! How many other restaurants (other than big chains) that serve breakfast all day and are open after 2pm?! In fact...they are open 7 fays a week from 6:30 am to 9 pm! Try it for yourself and leave a review of your takeaway.

What a great place to come eat. The staff are polite and inviting. There are 7 tables so call ahead if you want one. Lily is the best server. Stephanie was a great host. I lucked out and walked into this place. The food is fresh the shakes are perfect to drink with a straw or eat with a spoon, served with whipped topping. I had the Reuben and it was AMAZING. Piping hot and just the right amount of sauerkraut. A nice addition was jalapeños in the sauerkraut which gave the sandwich a nice spice which I’ve never had before. Lily asked if I wanted the peppers in the sauerkraut and even made my Reese’s peanut butter shake with chocolate which is the way it should be made. Everyone here is nice even on their bad day. This is a perfectly simple hole in the wall restaurant. No frills, no gimmicks, just plain good comfort food. Even the cooks in the back were smiling. This has to be a good place to work also if the cooks are smiling. It has high hairs and boosters for children also. I am recommending this place to everyone. Remember that it has limited seating so be patient with the staff as they are wonderful.

Let me preface by saying, if you are driving too fast, you might blink and miss this place. That being said, keep your eyes posted for this place, it's a hidden gem in Spokane Valley! Trina was the waitress today, and she had the whole place laughing and enjoying each others company. My wife and I started with a couple of appetizers, the fried pickles and onion rings, we then ordered the Hangry burger substituted with cheddar cheese, to split. The beer battered onion rings were some of the best, period! The fried pickles had a unique flavors, and I don't typically care.for.pickles, but I would order these again. The burger, was a bacon, ham, double cheeae burger, with 4 slices of cheddar, hashbrowns on the bottom bun, and a fried egg on top. This burger is named after the place, and that's because they are both insanely good! Get out and go try this place, despite what other a have said, they do not require masks at this time, it's a very chill atmosphere, but they cleaned between each guest, hand sanitizer when you enter, and Trina was very attentive to everyone's needs.

I have always enjoyed supporting local restaurants, but my recent experience at Hangry's was incredibly disappointing due to the behavior of one of their staff members. This young woman with brown hair was rude right off the bat, and unfortunately, this wasn't the first time I've encountered her unpleasant attitude.

I decided to give this place another chance despite previous negative experiences because I believe in supporting local businesses. However, when I showed up and mentioned that I had the Passport app through my employer, which offers discounts at participating locations, she immediately refused to honor it. It felt as if she thought I was presenting a random Google coupon.

I explained to her that the owner must have signed up as a participating location because these discounts have specific details and specifications for usage. Instead of checking the validity of the discount, she made me wait while my food, which was already boxed up, sat there without being kept warm under a heat lamp. She then proceeded to serve other tables while I stood there explaining the situation over and over again.

After almost 10 minutes of back and forth, she informed me that she had messaged the owner but still wouldn't honor the discount. This was incredibly frustrating as I have never encountered such an issue with any other business accepting this discount. Her rude attitude only aggravated the situation.

When I first asked her about the discount and pointed at the bag of boxed-up food, she quickly brushed me off and continued serving other customers. Her voice was so rude and snarky that even the people sitting next to me looked shocked, raising their eyebrows at the tone she used.

By the time she finally acknowledged that the food sitting there was mine, it had been out for a while, and I no longer wanted it due to the poor treatment and the wait. This experience was extremely frustrating, and I felt as if I was being treated like I was asking for a handout.

It's a shame because I genuinely want to support local businesses, but the customer service at Hangry's was unacceptable. I hope they address this issue to prevent other customers from having a similarly negative experience.

I usually love coming here, but unfortunately this specific waitress has really rubbed us wrong.

Update 08/13/2024:

I was pleased to receive a response from the owner of Hangry's following my initial review. They sincerely apologized for the service I received and confirmed that they do indeed accept the Passport discount. The owner assured me that all staff members will be notified to prevent any future misunderstandings. I appreciate the owner's prompt and considerate response, and I look forward to giving Hangry's another try in the future. Therefore, I am changing my review back to 5 stars because other than the rude waitress, I've always loved the...

My husband & I were exstremley sick for days and neither felt like cooking . He placed a order for pick up. We live 2.2 miles away. Arrived promptly. We Get home & I open the bag to wet napkins, completely smashed, soggy boxes to the point the toast was wet/soggy (like when dipped in eggs for French toast) yes that bad! We immediately call, because the food is not edable. We over hear the cook saying we need to wait at least a hr for "remake" then told that the food is sooo fresh it's Normal for the boxes to fall apart from condensation. After 10 min back and forth we are told to wait til after 12:00 for a refund . It's 9:30 a.m. we declined & drove back because we were not going back & forth all day while sick. When we arrived another few times we were asked if we wanted food instead of refund we declined especially since it's "normal for 2.2 mile drive to have the boxes full of condensation and falling apart plus smashed . Then told cant get a refund owner isn't in??? OVER15 min we sat there waiting, to have the cook come out & state owner would refund from home" i asked for a reciept, or slip stating i was getting a refund. It was like they didnt understand & that was a 5 min ordeal. Then promised end of day it would be refunded by owner "at home".

A WEEK later STILL no refund!! I call again today told they "don't know where owner is, he's sick might be back next week" then asked want us to remake your food right now?? NOOOO We are BOTH @ work SEPERATE & don't want the food we want our refund!! Then told to call the "northside Maybe he's there". I call Northside. Started explaining to the lady on phone, all of a sudden Im told "hold on" I need to take food to tables?? Then once again nobody knows where owner is. All of sudden I hear .. here you listen & deal with her!! WELL I'm transferred to the "COOK" He was actually the more competent and compassionate of the two which says a TON since the "WAITRESS" is the face of customer service. Once again I'm told they can't help, only the owner can "refund" online orders and who knows when he will be there, the valley or ?? This is absolutely INSANE. I can not believe in 2024 I'm told nobody knows how to do the refund, and the owner is MIA . The owner should invest in BETTER BOXES, liners and it is NOT OKAY, NOR NORMAL to get home to a bag of food that is soaked, smashed and told it's fresh so it "sweats" soaking EVERYTHING... this feels like a absolute joke, nightmare and absolutely...

Went here today for the 1st time and was terribly disappointed. We walked in the door and there were 2 waitresses running around whom told us it was a 25 min wait... we said that was fine... there were 2 open tables so my family and i started to walk towards one of the open tables when one of the waitress yelled at us telling us we cant sit there we needed to wait our turn and there were people waiting ahead of us... and then because she was aggressive towards us like we were cutting in line... a few of the customers started mermering rude things towards us aswell.... we had absolutely no idea there was a waiting list or how this establishment runs their seating arrangements... we had no problem waiting but left after we were treated so UGLY by the 2 waitress that didnt even seem happy to be there and obviously not very welcoming or understanding of new customers. I apologized and explained i had no idea it was our 1st time, and we left.

Response from the owner 11 hours ago Sorry thus was your experience your 1st time, but it sounds like you went to seat yourself when you when you were directed to wait your turn, please listen to the staff, we are actually all pretty experienced in what we do. Sorry getting told no rubbed you the wrong way but it's happens now and again in life and we gotta deal with it

In reply to owner: we were never told to wait our turn untill we were being yelled at by your waitress, we had no idea there was a waiting list because there was no line or list to put our name down. All the waitress said was it would be 25 min so we assumed we would be waiting 25 min to order. And i have no problem being told No, but i do have a problem with people being mean and rude, especially if someone is new and doesnt know how things are done. Your response shows your level of arrogance; Seeking wrong in the customer who was lost instead of seeing where your estableshment went wrong. Im glad you responded the way you did so others can read your...
