I’ve been to probably 10+ dinners over the last month as it’s kinda a fun trend I’ve started. So when I went here since it was saint Patrick's day weekend,
Upon arrival the place was clean and not over run for a Sunday morning. Which was nice. The place was calm and the music while not Irish music was at least country and the staff was extremely knowledgeable and super friendly
I got the Irish nudge to start as I wanted something warm and hearty due to the weather. (Cold and rainy) it came out great!
I also had black coffee wish came out hot and smooth not to dark or burnt tasting and not to light. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs with toast, bacon, sausage and hash brown's
From the time I ordered to the time I got my food was probably 12 mins max so not long which was nice. While eating the staff would check on us periodically while not hovering and also making sure my coffee was always full.
The staff was great the ladies were not under dressed which was nice and very well mannered whiled keeping it lively and friendly.
I will say the rye toast is probably the best I’ve ever had. And the sausage came out incredibly well. The bacon could have been a little more peppered and crispy but still great.
The corned beef hash is definitely more of a Pulled beef or pork style meet and was great not to much salt but definitely could taste it the onions and peppers were a great addition to it.
The prices at first sight might seem high but when you get the portions they’re definitely with the money for sure.

Read moreYou know, I'm not sure what happened, here, honestly-- it seemed like it would be a decent place. I saw the smokers out back, and the parking lot was pretty packed, so I figured they must have some decent fare. But, that was definitely not the case, unfortunately.
We walked in and the decor was certainly on par with the Irish pub side, at least. And I was very hopeful. It was busy, but they were also very clearly short staffed, as well. It took a while to even get our drink order, and that was a bit of a mild frustration, but we understood. Our food order was taken by a very rushed and flustered waitress, but with no paper and only her memory, which was impressive, under such pressure. I was disappointed to learn that the mashed potatoes were thrown out for being spoiled, so I ordered the meat and potatoes over fries, instead.
It took almost an hour. However, she did come explain that they were slammed in the back, too. When it arrived, it looked good.... But after that first taste, the disappointment set in..... It was so, so bland.... And so dry.... My family is from Texas and we take BBQ very seriously. We're also most Irish, so that was also something I grew up with. I really had hoped that something here would hit the spot. But sadly, everything was really just awful. I feel badly even saying so, but it truly was. The pulled pork was just a roast. It wasn't smoked, at all-- there's no way. It wasn't even cheated by using liquid smoke, even. There was no pink, no juice, just dry, roasted shreds, with a very molasses-heavy sauce. The gravy was just mildly salty brown juice. The burger patty was dry and unsalted. The only positive? EXCELLENT mozzarella cheese sticks. Good quality cheese, nice breading-- our appetizer really had our hopes up. But it was a huge letdown from there,...
Read moreI guess this place is now called McCraken's Irish Pub & BBQ. Stopped by around 5:45 pm on Wednesday, 3/30/2022. Upon walking in I noticed we were the only ones there save for four or five sitting at the corner of the bar. Not sure where to sit or if we should wait to be seated but heard someone call out, "Just seat yourself." Then heard someone sitting at the bar on the other side of the room loudly ask, "What is wrong with you? Are you sick? Why are you wearing a mask?"
Throughout our meal, Mr. Loud Guy continued to loudly try to string together words to make sentences. These sentences seemed to have a requirement of the F-Word making up about 65% of the sentences.
Later Mr. Loud Guy used, not once, but twice, a super-offensive term targeting members of the Asian American community. This did not sit well with my Chinese guest. Mr. Loud Guy also suggested 'they,' obviously referring to us, may prefer going to Black Straw Tea Bar & Kitchen, the Asian place across the street.
I heard the two ladies who had come in and sat behind us say how offensive the man was.
Yes, I get it. Freedom of speech and all that. The problem is staff did not seem to have any interest in shutting Mr. Loud Guy down. It was as if that was acceptable behavior in the place. And since it seemed like he and his friends are regulars there, I can only assume racism and mask shaming are acceptable at McCraken's Irish Pub & BBQ. And that is sad because the two items we ordered were pretty tasty.
But since there are many dining options in Spokane and Spokane Valley, McCraken's Irish Pub & BBQ will likely not be a place we would return to...
