I've actually been there Four times in the past week. The first burger and fries I had were Awesome!!! The owner made it. I've had the jalapeno salsa burger and fries twice. The second an third time I believe it was a different cook? The fries were a little over cooked and tasted like they were cooked in old grease, sadly. I've tried the Philly burger too. Same on the fries. Today I went and I chose the french dip and onion rings. The sandwich seemed thrown together and meat a lil rubbery. The onion rings came extremely over cooked and tasted like fish. DEFINITELY over used grease!!! This is a pretty good place to eat and not a bad price for what you get..... It seems it might be a good idea to access how busy they are before you eat there, and possibly find out whos cooking? Not saying the other guy is a bad cook, but if he's being slammed with orders, he can only keep up and produce food if a certain level maybe? My friend and I were not charged for the onion rings extra, but we're handed a bill for the whole French dip meal. So we asked for our two ideas of fries that we were being charged for. The server initially brought only 1 and we had to remind her it should be two for what we were being charged.. I really enjoyed the banana, chocolate, peanut butter shake. I do recommend the place and also to be aware of what I shared. I will go back but make sure what I'm planning on paying for and eating is going to be fixed...
Read moreAmazing food, staff, and overall environment. Little bit of a wait sometimes if they're very busy, but they don't make you wait too long if they can help it. The portions are decent for the price and you definitely don't leave hungry. The staff is helpful and friendly even when they're busy, and the quality of the food is consistent every time I go. It is family friendly for any age, I just personally think it's not a great fit for those with toddlers (speaking from my own experience, the high chair just made it difficult for the staff to maneuver around and my high energy 2 year old was not happy about having to sit still for an extended period of time. The staff is very accommodating for little ones, some of the other patrons? Not so much). I think the only "complaint" I have isn't even about the business. Because it's located in the Garland district, parking can be a bit difficult to find; so maybe prepare for a bit of a walk from the car. Otherwise I absolutely love coming here. The Ferguson's Combo is always a good idea for breakfast,...
Read moreI have lived in the area since 1997 and had never been to Fergusons. My husband and I wanted to try a new breakfast spot today and decided to check out Fergusons. I absolutely LOVE old diners and this one did not disappoint! I asked our waitress, Andrea, how old Fergusons was and she told us it opened in 1941. I think it's so neat that it's still open after all of these years. Benny & Joon, Boon, and a few other movies had scenes that were filmed in the diner, which is so cool. We ordered the veggie hash and the sausage hash. They were both excellent. Two people could easily share a hash. Andrea's service was awesome and she made sure we had everything we needed and checked back with us frequently to ensure our coffee was refilled. The atmosphere was cozy and had antique gems and older pictures placed throughout the diner. I loved everything about Fergusons and am looking forward to coming back soon. I would absolutely recommend Fergusons to locals and tourists....
