Picture this my husband and I were moseying along garland street enjoying the vibes but sad that everything was closed on a Monday. The saving grace? The milk bottle. We walked in surprised to find this hidden gem in Spokane. Located in an old dairy shop the milk bottle is a charming little location that is serving up AMAZING milkshakes and other delicious concoctions. We were sat immediately by our server and given waters and menu even though we made it clear we were just ordering a milkshake. We were very impressed. We ordered the huckleberry cobbler and the river city sludge milkshake. We asked our server what milkshakes were the best and she said “all of them” which is a big green flag. Even though the place was packed we got our order very quickly! The cobbler was super tasty we could have eaten 2-3 orders of it. Nice and buttery and the huckleberry flavor shined through. But the milkshake OH BOY was it good. The ice cream was perfectly creamy and the brownie pieces tasted home made. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

We decided to try The Milk Bottle in the Garland District. We had spent some time at a nearby tattoo parlor and were hungry. I was a huge fan of the movie Benny and Joon, so I knew we had to try it. It is very small with just a few tables. Luckily for us, it was later in the day so it was not very crowded. We were able to find street parking fairly close, across the street. We were greeted right as we walked in. We grabbed a table right next to a window. The menu was your typical “diner food.” It is an open concept so you could see the cooks preparing the food. The waitress came over to take our order. My burger was juicy and delicious. The milkshakes are served in a tall glass with the rest still in the metal blender cup. The milkshakes had the perfect ratio of milk to ice cream. It has a very retro feel to it. Our waitress was very nice, she did not seem rushed or overwhelmed. Everything was served in a timely manner and exactly as it was ordered. 10/10 I definitely would recommend this place for a good burger and milkshake!

Fast friendly service, extremely reasonable prices for the great quality food. Ordered the Hawaiian burger, Reuben, bacon cheeseburger, and the tuna melt; all came out quickly and hot. Hawaiian burger and bacon cheeseburger were ordered by our 10 year old twin granddaughters, both devoured their burgers without hesitation. Plenty of good quality bacon on the bacon cheeseburger. Reuben - tied for the best Reuben we’ve had in our travels across the country, it is that good. Great flavor and it comes with sauce on the side if you want to tweak the taste to your personal liking. Tuna melt (choice of bread, I chose marbled rye) - tasty and very satisfying. Fresh cut fries - fries done right, default was light salt which we really appreciated; too many restaurants drown fries and such in salt destroying the flavor unless you’re one that loves salt. Homemade sauces - tartar and fry sauce are house made, both tasted great. Definitely try them out.

The Milk Bottle is hands-down my favorite place to eat! Bar none! First of all, you have to love the building. The shape of an actual milk bottle! Next the interior... it takes me back to the diner's I used to love as a kid. Clean, crisp and it brings back the nostalgia of a bygone era. Outside there is a few tables to sit at so you can enjoy the fresh air and the vibrancy of the Garland District neighborhood.

Speaking of which, when you go to the Milk Bottle, make an afternoon of it. Explore the many sights in the Garland District... the Garland Theater and attached bar, the newer North Hill bar (plus other drinking establishments!), grab a treat at the Rocket Bakery, grab a coffee to wander around with at Mug Shots Espresso, and visit many, many more LOCAL businesses.

But, I digress... Most importantly, the food at the Milk Bottle is outstanding!!! Fresh burgers on home-made buns with fresh toppings. They are like nothing else you will get in Spokane. Next, the fresh cut french fries. These fresh-cut and fresh fried delights may be the best item in the pace, but it's too hard to decide. Next, a real ice cream milkshake, not the phony stuff you get at the chain restaurants. It's mixed up right there and you get the metal mixing cup with any left over so you don't miss a drop of goodness. The ice cream is high quality and the flavor is amazing.

Next, I have to give appreciation for the staff. They are hard-working and do their best to get you your order fast so you can eat and get on with your day if you need to as so many do at lunchtime. However, while they are efficient and work hard, they are never too busy to take the time to check on you, get anything you need or add on a treat to your order. And did I say friendly? Wow! They always make me want to come back. They are warm and welcoming and do it in a genuine way... not because they were told to do it by their boss (like some places where they are just repeating the lines and don;t actually mean them or have any feeling behind them).

To be honest, I don't get to go in as often as I would like, but when I do, the experience delivered to me is amazing. It always puts a smile on my face and is always at the top of my list when I think about the best part of my day.

Thank you for the nice time I have every time I come into your establishment. Much continued success to everyone at the...

Let me start by saying I've had worse, but frankly I found this meal to be particularly disappointing. We came in excited hoping for a nice sandwich and some sweets, we ordered the cookie dough milkshake and the grilled ham and cheese alongside a ruban and a cherry ice cream soda. Now the cookie dough milkshake was amazing, and since it came out first we were very excited for the rest of the meal. Then the cherry ice cream soda came out, there was no whip or cherry on top- okay no big deal, I tasted it, no cherry flavor at all. I was confused, I thought it might have been the ice cream over powering the cherry but no, the red drink that came with the ice cream truly just tasted like carbonated water dyed red, which was very disappointing. Next came our food, now I am a lover of a good ruban but this one I did not love, the sauce which is integral to the sandwich, was on the side and some how the bottom was saggy- which maybe is just a cultural thing in the Spokane area cause it has happened with every sandwich I've had here in the last year. I personally don't enjoy it frankly and I find it immensely disappointing. With my partners meal the fries were floppy and bland, and the ham and cheese tasted more like toast with extra toast with a sliver of lunch meat inside. I wanted to let it go but this coupled with the aloof server who never checked in about our meal just was really disappointing, I felt rushed out after being given a subpar experience, this feels immensely frustrating and disappointing, I can tell this is a special and rare place I just don't understand why this meal felt...

This was my first visit to the Milk Bottle. I had heard good things. I ordered the Bacon Burger with an extra patty and avocado. The waitress asked me if I wanted cheese. I told her no, I just want the bacon burger, not cheese burger. My order came out and there was cheese on both of my patties. I told her that I didn’t want cheese and she offered to remake it, but at this point I was stage 5 hangry and needed to eat ASAP so I scraped off the cheese with a napkin. As I was doing this I was rearranging my burger and got a feel for my avocado. The slices on my avocado were not ripe and felt like rubber. I asked the cooks directly to find me a ripe avocado and cut it up. The waitress stated that they could make a new burger and I told her I didn’t want to wait, just need a new avocado because again I was hungry. She misunderstood and thought I was fine with my burger and told the chefs I didn’t want the avocado. I was waiting and my wife went up to ask where my new avocado was and they said that the waitress said I didn’t want it. My wife grabbed it for me and I ate my burger. The burger was good after the debacle, but the delivery was piss poor. There was never an offer to compensate my meal, might be a stretch to expect, but they completely messed up my order and I accommodated due to being...
