Desi Swaad — Restaurant in Spring City

Good food, but I encourage caution for people with allergies or dietary restrictions. This restaurant ignored both an email and social media direct message asking for clarification about ingredients used and adjustment possibilities. The person who answered a phone call (with simply "hello?"...) also did not seem able to answer these concerns adequately.

Still wanting to support a new local Indian restaurant, we placed an order and were overall satisfied with the taste of the meal. However, a few disappointments were expressed about the smaller portion size of certain dishes, the "biryani with tofu" contained exactly three tiny pieces of tofu, and bread/roti was not available without...

Great food and very friendly staff. I got the chicken kadai (medium heat) and garlic naan for takeout. The chicken was flavorful and tender, and the spices were balanced (medium heat was perfect). The service created a welcoming atmosphere, and the food was prepared promptly. Prices were reasonable, and although I got my order to go, the dining area appeared to be clean and well organized. The host/server who took my order also offered me a free mango drink while I waited, and as we chatted, he mentioned that the restaurant will have a buffet in the near future. I have mixed feelings about this new Indian restaurant in Spring City. First the good, flavor profile is closer to north Indian food and different from other Indian restaurants nearby. Service is good and attentive to ur needs and they take feedback. Flavor is spot on for tandoori dishes. Now the bad, for the price food portions are small. Some dishes like amritsari fish lacked seasoning, not bad but could definitely be better. Hopefully they work on these as I would like to see them succeed as its so closer to north Indian food.
