I didnt know any of these people until a few days ago. This place came as a recommendation from Pete, the owner of Nelson's Deli in Spring Lake Park. Best Deli in the North Metro, I want to add.
On to the review!
First off, Amazing and fun staff !
Second off, Dave, the owner is a sweetheart. This guy opened this business from his heart. Just a beer lover like you and I. He just wants to bring what he loves to this working class area which I am proud to be a resident.
So glade a microbrewery took a chance and brought great beer to Spring Lake Park/ Fridley local residents, such as myself. From taking with other locals at the opening weekend, we our all glade this gem is here and we where not overlooked because of our smaller demographic.
This is their soft opening weekend , whicj they had 5 beers on tap. For the darker beer lovers such as myself you have two beers you need to try. First off, the "Brigid's Bathwater Stout" , a very full, robust flavored stout. Black as North Dakota black gold, but super smooth. A stout with easy drinkablity. Next up, the Squirrel Nutkin. This is the first time I seen at a nut brown on NITRO at a Micro Brewery . Dont miss this being on Nitro.
For the higher alcohol bite, you have the Bearded Preacher's Wife. I am definitely not an IPA fan, but I really enjoyed the little bit of bite this IPA had with a smooth finish.
So you have a Stout, Nut Brown Ale, a Pale Ale, an ESB, and an IPA for their " opening" selection. So something for every beer lover that enjoys full flavor beer.
Had a nice conversation with Dave the owner, and their is going to be growth here. Looking at a game room in the future. Also , there is a smaller outdoor patio on the second level, very cozy.
As a beer loving local, I wish them nothing but the best. But it's a must stop , for the beer lover in visiting or living in the...
Read moreTorg offered to host the MN Scottish Fair's Burns Night fundraiser this year and we were quick to accept! The homey and fun atmosphere was a great fit for our unconventional 2023 event. They generously donated the space, tables, chairs, cloth table coverings, and their time to make our fundraising event a success. The event space furniture was in place for us before we even arrived to decorate, and Torg ensured we had the correct numbers of seats for all purchased tickets. The MSF&HG board received many compliments on a fun and entertaining evening which included the traditional Burns Night toasts, silent auction, pipe band and highland dance performance, Ceilidh dancing and live music. The owners are wonderful, fun people and we thank them whole heartedly for their partnership on this event - they even agreed to compose and present a couple of the toasts for the evening! Last but certainly not least, the craft brews were delicious (and there were a few folks happy to see a N/A brew available as well)! Thank you,...
Read moreWent for Burns Night; this place isn't set up for events at all. It's a rabbit warren of different rooms and the event room was way too small for our group. They knew in advance how many of us were coming yet they didn't provide enough tables OR chairs for us. There was no water, coffee, or punch in our room either. No servers came in our room offering water or taking drink orders. Then, we get our dinner ($55) on paper plates and plastic utensils. No beverage either! Some people dragged in bar stools to sit on, but try having a convo when people are sitting and standing at different heights. The lights were full on bright - it was just tacky. I think there were plastic dollar-store tablecloths that were taped on, as if they were expecting a bunch of kids doing finger paints. 90% of us left early. This is the kind of place you go to with several friends after work. Just don't go expecting a thoughtful...
