We have been eating at this buffet for the past 10 years. Prior to Covid pandemic on Saturday night it was packed, you would have to take a number and wait for up to 30 minutes to be seated. That’s why they have that massive sofa in the entry room. The pandemic change that, now you can walk in any Saturday afternoon and be seated right away. Atmosphere in this buffet is bright and cheerful, it’s a great place to visit with children. Prices are affordable and food selection is great! We love seafood and are alway happy to see two -three varieties of fish, shrimp, crab and clams. Our son is a very picky eater, and he always finds things that he likes at this buffet. I particularly like their sushi selection and the fact that everyone, including strict vegans and vegetarians can find enough food to feel happy about visiting this place. Needless to say, kids love the chocolate fountain a the fish pond. I have been to this buffet with coworkers as well during the week for lunch multiple times, food is always hot and flavorful. This place is clean and most importantly, the bathrooms are clean, considering the volume of visitors. It’s a great place to eat at and celebrate special occasions. They do have a party room that is quant and cozy.

Food is fine. Normal type of Asian buffet stuff, wait was kinda long but it’s after church time on a Sunday so I wasn’t surprised. What I was surprised about was finding a shard of metal in my noodles while it was in my mouth. My friends and I had told the guy giving us waters about it, he brought his manager over and she said they’d change it out. Nothing else offered. The second time she came around she told us that she had it changed out and washed, so if I want I can go get a new plate. Of course why would I even be hungry after I had metal in my mouth? I asked if I could get some sort of discount/free meal since it’s like a major health hazard for having metal in your food and she stared at me like I was crazy. Then after thinking about it for a minute she only offered a whole 10% off. I guess better than nothing. Clearly they’re only in it to make a profit and don’t really care about the safety of their food. It was a fairly sharp but small piece of metal but if it were any bigger it probably would have been able to cut my cheek or get caught in my throat. Not coming back.

I've been here plenty of times and most recently, stopped in with my brothers, for dinner. Let me just say, this place never fails to disappoint, and that is solely due to their Hibachi Beef. Juicy, tender, bite-sized cubed beef cuts, that just melts in your mouth. If it's one thing you should absolutely try, it is the Hibachi Beef. So many people grab it that it's always freshly made although, due to it's popularity, you may end up waiting or touring the other options while they make more. Of course, the other food items are tasty as well, and they have a great selection of sushi. I also recommend their Salt and Pepper Shrimp, it's probably the best around compared to other buffets, but I tend to like my salt and pepper more on the salty side. Pair it up with an ice cold Sprite and you're golden. Overall, when I think buffet, I think Hibachi. It's the same with my family and the place can be packed most times during dinner hours, but that's how buffets typically are anyways, its just if the food is good or not and you can't go wrong at Hibachi.

Never again! I've eaten here at least 30+ times. It WAS my favorite Asian buffet. I try to come on Sunday when they serve sashimi (raw tuna). On my last (and final) trip, I discovered the tuna had turned. Let me be clear- there was no uncertainty or debate about this. The taste and smell left NO room for doubt that this tuna was un-edible at best and dangerous at worst. It was positively nasty.

It can happen to any restaurant. Asian buffet is basically a low-priced cafeteria. You can't expect everything to be a winner, but this had to be a mistake. I didn't want anyone to get sick. I approached a young man who at least dressed and appeared to be in charge and told him about the tuna. He thanked me for informing him and assured me he would take care of it right away.

I guess he didn't see or care that I had a clear view of the sushi bar (and him) from my table. After about ten minutes, I watched him approach the tuna and stare at it for a minute. He then poked at it with a pair of tongs. I guess he was satisfied that all was well because he then left and the bad tuna remained until the tray was picked clean by unfortunate guests!

Mind you- He made NO effort to smell or taste the offending fish. He didn't talk to anyone from the sushi bar. How he could expect to tell if it was OK by a visual inspection is just silly. The red color is artificially induced with carbon monoxide gas at the processing plant. Color means nothing. Smell and taste tell the tale.

I only had 2 bites. My first was followed by a smaller, more cautious sample to make sure the first piece wasn't a fluke. I didn't vomit when I got home, but I DID get sick. I have an iron stomach and can practically eat glass. If 2 bites had this effect on me, I shudder to think how others who ate that tuna might have fared.

Shame on you HG & SB !! You lost a loyal customer that day. I don't trust you anymore.

-Update: I mourn the loss of my best buffet no longer. A new buffet just opened up at University and 694 (on the way to HG & SB no less). We tried it and found our new favorite. Only $12 and better food on every count! That's saying a lot considering how much I loved Hibachi Grill.. Your days are numbered guys. There's a new place nearby and they're doin' it...

I'm not one to go public with my opinions but this place should be shut down. Clearly from the other reviews, we were also not the first to be hounded for a tip either. My family used to frequent this establishment until about a year ago. The food had gotten disgusting. It was ridiculously priced. We started feeling sick after we ate there. The clencher for us was one evening when we were at Sam ' s Club and saw them leaving with baskets of watermelon, a flatbed full of cakes - which fell on the floor only to be picked up and still taken to serve- but also a cart full of cat food and litter. I mean, an amount of cat supplies that would have lasted normal cat lovers about 2 or 3 years. Seriously, we have 3 cats so I know. This was after we saw some strange "racks" outside the back of the restaurant. At that point we were done with this place. Recently, we decided we wanted to give them one more chance since there wasn't anything apparent about the cat supplies that we saw. So, last week we gathered the courage only to go in and be hit with pure fish house stink. We promptly left. And yet again, tonight we thought if they pass the smell test, we will finally try it. The food was barely warm, flavor less, had slimy sauces. In short it was disgusting. ..even worse than before. So to pay $13 a person for that was plain stupid. Then to top it off, the "waitress" was rude and all we had was water. Mind you, this is a buffet. Not much service needed. She actually flipped the bill over right after I signed it to see if I left a tip on the card. Since I didn't, she said you know the total doesn't include a tip. Just so you know, and stormed off. Now, we tip and tip very well for service that deserves it. For all she knew, I was going to leave a cash tip. We were appalled. Then to really clench it, she did the little kid mouth back thing to my husband, not once but twice. She did it again when my husband was speaking with the manager about the horrible situation we had experienced. Sadly, the "manager" didn't seem to care less and refused to provide me with the contact information of the owners. Unbelievable. See yelp, yp and urbanspoon for...

The atmosphere is for a very nice restaurant with a very nice fish display tank in the entry. The seating has a way of being both crowded, yet separated from the whole of the building and that does help.

Several pork dishes were not cooked and I just sent the whole plate back. The ribs, surprisingly were the same way considering they were the cheapest short ribs on market. I had noticed there was a layer of fat baked on top of each piece and that was what was coated in barbecue. Sushi, an easy one and the obvious was a ton of rice, I made no friendly diner of myself and stripped each piece down until I had pieces that were reasonable to eat and had a healthy balance of rice to roll. However the Maki was very something somehow, at times I was unable to bite through a roll because it was too sticky, tough and hard to bite through. Speaking of pork, an easy favorite being beef and broccoli, that's the spot I retired to wrap up my tour of the several available dishes. Roughly 30 many being variations on pork and veggie. Either way it was awful, the pork having turned mushy melted in my mouth much to my horror and disgust. The service was so bad several diners had left without paying for their meal. That was the extremely low attendance given. It took a long time. Around 15 minutes between a stop some being as short as 8 with the servers having gone out of sight each time into a back soda bar area. Several guests in my seating area went out of their way to deny a tip. When I left they took my 20 and gave me my dollar and change back. This interaction was done without a word and the attending hostess had not even the gall to say have a nice day. Keep in mind I never said anything bad during my time and never left an acknowledgment. I ate my food, sent back what was not worth eating and pleasantly finished my dining experience. It would be easy to say, from solo to family dining you are bound to disappoint yourself, your family or your date. At 20 dollars a person your day is better spent elsewhere. Will not be returning. Ahh and I forget. They don't really often...
