A friend of mine and I ate here for the first time and tried their buffet lunch. Being Asian and Filipino and growing up learning the restaurant business from my parents as well as traveling all over, I tend to be critical of Asian dishes. My experience was quite nice: the staff was quite friendly, the young lady that worked there was quite friendly. She spoke Tagalog that impressed me, even got the Filipino accent down pack. 😂 The buffet was quite simple, but they have enough variety of dishes that didn't overwhelmed me like most Oriental buffets do, especially here in Fayetteville. The place was very clean, plain but very clean. I was impressed.
So, I decided to order dinner last Saturday for delivery. I had some questions doing online orders, but I went ahead and did it. I ordered the Fried Chicken Wontons/ Dumplings, the Spicy Meatballs, House Special Lomein, and the plain Fried Chicken Wings. The great thing about their website is that it's quite user friendly; it gave me options whether I like my food spicy or not, and also gave you other options as to if you want extra sauce, more vegetables, more meat, etc. I had a question about the Lomein and had to call for assistance. I was instructed that since it was a Chinese Combination meal and didn't want the rice or spring rolls to just state that in my "Special Instructions" and just to ask for more noodles, which I didn't get charge extra for. So my order arrives less than the 30 minutes...the food was hot which I thought was excellent. But here's where I started to become critical: the House Special Lomein was okay, it was very greasy, the Lomein noodles were sticking to each other, there were barely any vegetables, 2 pieces of large broccoli (I did request not too much brocolli), carrots were cut in huge stylish round pieces and the cabbages were cut in huge pieces ( do your cooks know how to cut vegetables?); the House Special Lomein means it has chicken, beef, pork and shrimp....well, barely any shrimp (We found 2 pieces of shrimp), chicken and steak were huge pieces and 3 pieces of pork. I was a bit disappointed. Then there was the Fried chicken wings..you guys over cooked them and you need to change the oil in your deep fryer. Because the wings lookwd liked they had a very bad sunburn and the oil was just all over the container. I enjoyed the spicy meatballs and loved that my request for mild sauce was spot on, and the Fried chicken wontons, although it needed to be more crunchy , it was delicious. My friend and I were hungry, I paid almost $52.00 that including tax and $6 and some change for the delivery driver's tip (which is calculated for you) oh and a delivery charge. I did get a $2.00 off my order for being it was my first time online order. I would've given you a five, but please take note of how you present your cooking...ease up on the oil and make sure you don't disappoint a...
Read moreWaitress: Welcome. Please, come in. Me: Thank you—it already smells incredible in here. I will be eating in. (She leads you to a cozy table, placing a menu before you with gentle care.) Waitress: May I start you off with something to drink? Me: Yes, please. (Orders drink.) Waitress: I will give you a few minutes to decide what you want to order. (She departs, and soft laughter from another table blends with the background sounds from the TV. I settle in, absorbing the ambiance, and try to decide what I want to eat. There are so many delicious options!)
(The waitress returns, poliety asking if I have made my decision.) Waitress: Did you decide what you would like to eat? Me: What do you recommend? Waitress: I recommend the glass noodles. Me: Ok, I will take that! Waitress: Awesome! It will be out soon! Me: (Stomach grumbles. The food smells so amazing!) Waitress: (Serves my food in a timely fashion.) Let me know if you need anything else, and enjoy! You: (Takes bite.) Inner monologue: This is… unbelievable. Compliments to the chef—and to the Waitress for the recommendation!
(Later, my plate is nearly empty, the sounds from the other people drift on, and the warmth of the evening lingers.)
The meal has ended, but the memory remains—of flavor, of kindness, of a space where the world felt gentler, if only for a while. Ashley is an amazing waitress, and I...
Read moreLet me tell you about a Restaurant I recently ate at. Chopsticks in Spring Lake. The atmosphere is very pleasant the restaurant was very clean. The nice waitress Ashley greeted me with a smile and asked how many today. I politely said just 1 it’s my first time eating here. She politely said please follow me this way. I sat down at my table and asked her what she recommended. I told her I don’t like spicy food just medium. She recommended a few different dishes so I choose one and she said be right back with your drink. She came back to my table with my drink and said food shouldn’t be to much longer. As I sat there waiting for my food she came back to the table several time asking if there is anything else I needed while I wait. She was very polite and smiled each time. After waiting a few minutes she brought my food to the table and asked if there was anything else I need I said not right now. She never let my drink get past half way full she was on it and very polite when she gave me a refill. When I was ready to check out she handed me my bill and I walked to the register to pay. She was very polite and smiled the entire time. I left the restaurant very pleased with the service and the food. The waitress was so polite and friendly would recommend the restaurant and her to my family and friends. 2...
