On 3/4/19 at 4:31 pm I purchased NBA 2k19 for my son from the GameStop on 630 Lilington highway, spring lake, NC. i purchased the game though a promo that was going on so it was $30 for a new copy and this was the only new one for 20 miles. when i bought the game the associate helping me (Matthew 591810) grabbed the case off of the shelf and the disk from the cabinet behind the counter, put it in the case and handed it to me as is then gave me my receipt. now i thought this was weird i had never received a game from GameStop that wasn't wrapped. when i gave the game to my son it turned out he already had it so i went back 3/7/19 to return the game. When I arrived to the gamestop I noticed that the same employee that assisted me when I originally bought the game was working tonight. Originally I though that it would a good thing that he was there to know that there was no plastic seal on the game at the original purchase date. When I told him I wanted to return the game because my son already had the game he told that he could only offer me in store credit, when I asked why he proceeded to tell me its because there is no plastic seal on the game and it is store policy. When I told him when I bought the game that there was no seal on the case in the first place. So of course when I bring it back it will not have that seal on it. The manager then stepped in and told me the store policy of the plastic seal and no seal return policy, I understood the policy quite clearly, but when I looked at Matthew and asked him "So you are telling me when I bought this game you put a seal on it" when he looked me in my eyes and lied to me that he put on a seal when I know for a fact he did not. I felt disrespected, irritated, annoyed, and overall angry that an employee degraded me by calling me a liar to save his own a**. Instead of taking responsibility for his mistake he chose to screw over the customer. After the manager could see I was frustrated she and Matthew did nothing to solve the situation or understand what I was saying. Read moreHorrible experience and business, I came out to purchase Pokémon on a release day for Two items and was told that one of the products wasn’t available and none was received for the store. So when I made my purchase and left. As I’m in the parking lot I see a customer come out with the product that I was told was never received. I go in and speak with Collin who opened the store and told us that the product wasn’t available, he begins to tell me that he was “holding one for himself” and that he decided to give it to the customer I saw. First I don’t believe that the Pokémon company only sent one of that item and it was the one Collin was going to keep for himself especially on release day I understand product and quantity is low but not to were there sending one singular box. So that leads me to believe Collin is keeping product for himself and I’m assuming friends but on release day is telling people it’s unavailable. I can only imagine how many products this has happened with and is highly unacceptable. I will be reaching out to corporate about this because we waited for hours with others and was lied to about product being available.
