I’ve been here a ton. It’s a family friend who owns it. I’ve not had a problem in the other times I’ve come this time however was exceptionally horrible. I won’t be coming back again due to the horrible service, food, and way I was treated. I ordered Texas fajitas with the peppers and onion cooked well. The first time it came out it wasn’t cooked well we sent it back the second time it came out it was burnt horribly. We sent it back and made sure he said it in Spanish that the peepers and onion only cooked well. They then brought it out and it was not cooked again. It also has two shrimp in it. He asked them to make new beans and rice since it was now cold and they put it in the microwave with the tomatoes sour cream avocado and lettuce still on the plate then brought it to me like that so I sent it back and asked for completely new ones. Also asked to speak to the owner again and again he would not talk to me just my husband who is Hispanic I am as well I just don’t look it and I speak broken Spanish. He refused to speak to me the waitress also refused to come bk this whole time but did so in gaps of 20 mins to see what was wrong. Which the time she came back we told her and sent the items back. Needless to say the end is I won’t come back I felt disrespected and discriminated against for being white/Mexican not full and being a woman. I’m at a loss of words for the whole situation. I’ve not felt as horrible as I do at this point in time it has taken everything in not to cry. I also didn’t freak out one time or be rude once and I got that horrible service. I’d understand if I was rude or made a huge disturbance but none of that happened. My husband calmly dealt with it. I’m extremely disappointed in the situation and the racism I had to endure..after they messed it up and I didn’t eat it at all they expected it to be paid for. I Can’t believe the audacity of this man. I’m beyond upset with everything...
Read moreWe have gotten El Tucan in the past and have enjoyed it. Today we decided on a whim to get it for lunch to bring home. We tried to call several times to order, getting no response. We ended up driving to the restaurant to order carry out. We asked about the phones, and the person working simply said he didn't know why nobody was answering the phones. We thought maybe they were down, but apparently nobody was answering. We put in our order, and got our food quickly. I guess we should have checked the bag while we were there, once we got home we were missing an enchilada and the cheese dip we ordered. Of course, we tried to call to say that we were missing items. Nobody answered.
For the amount of effort that we put into this particular trip there, it was a bit disappointing. It just felt very sloppy and rushed. May give it another chance...
Read moreThis so called restaurant blows. One star, merely because the service was warmer than the food. Came in here with my husband as a substitution for cooking dinner. I had the "Carne Asada" plate. Gross. I am Hispanic and can cook a way better carne asada plate, and still not call it restaurant quality. Asada meat is usually ranchera, spanish for beef flank. This meat was diesmillo, in other words of lesser quality. Beans were not tasty and the rice was flavorless. I also want to point out how we wasted (not spent), $30 for an unsatisfactory meal. Anyone who says this place is worth it, has a taste for shi##y food, and I can only imagine what you eat at home. Take my advice and eat something good, at least when it comes to Hispanic food. Should have just went with the usual El Cazador restaurant. Overall, nasty wanna be Mexican restaurant....
