If you live anywhere in Berks County and you enjoy Chinese food and / or Sushi and you haven't been to Zhuang's Garden you are absolutely missing out.

Just to start this restaurant is a full service dine in establishment as well as offering take out service. I highlight this because there are so few dine in Chinese restaurants remaining. When I was a kid growing up we had a bunch of Chinese places you eat in at, not so much anymore.

Zhuang's is a small family run restaurant with excellent service and food. I have easily eaten there 100 times over the last 20 years between dine in and take out. My family has always done Chinese as a Christmas Eve tradition and this year was no exception. Their Chinese and Sushi are both made fresh to order and I have never had anything I didn't enjoy. Like pretty much any restaurant I think their food is best when you dine in and eat it hot and crispy, etc. however we get take out often with no complaints.

My family frequently gets General Tso's chicken, pork lo mein, hunan beef, twice cooked pork, spare ribs, sweet and sour pork, California rolls, tuna and salmon rolls and sashimi, hot and sour soup, wonton soup, fried shrimp, walnut shrimp and others and they are all excellent.

To sum it all up this place is a local family run restaurant with great food, a great dine in or take out experience that has been around for a long time. I strongly suggest trying them out if you haven't and supporting a local...

First time in today for lunch and the food was great, both sushi and Chinese style food; however, the service we received was terrible - the waitress was inattentive, rude, unintelligible, unprofessional, lacked courtesy and has certainly not mastered the skill of serving. There was no show of customer service or just general kindness, no welcoming or accommodating behaviors from the moment we walked in until we left - I am not even sure she said hello or asked if she could take our order, she just arrived at the table and said "are you ready?" We had to ask for plates to share an appetizer, one of our entrees came out about 8 minutes before the second person's entree, we weren't checked on once after being given our food, when we asked for a refill of our drink she literally stood there for about 10 seconds with the look of rage toward us and then brought back our glasses less than 3/4 full and didn't place them on the table, but slid them partially toward us, when clearing some of our items after saying "finished?", she reached in front of us across the table in the most obtrusive way possible to seemingly make some sort of point to us. It truly is a disservice to this restaurant that this is who they choose to have represent them because her manner in the way she "served" us, is the reason we will not go back whether it be eating in or take out - despite the food being really good, we can't justify supporting a business that allows this...

I'd ordered dinner at 5:44pm on a Sunday(today). With their hours saying that they're open until 9. All I ordered was a side dish of chicken lo mein and Honey Chicken for delivery. I was quoted 35-65 minutes for delivery which wasn't an issue at all. It took an hour/60 minutes to get to me, which again, wasn't the issue. What was an issue though? My honey chicken came....candied? That's the only way I can describe it. No sauce, not crispy at all. Just completely candied. Soft and VERY sweet. To the point where there were chunks of sugar on both pieces I bit into and it felt like I was eating a chicken flavored candy. The only reason I think that it was like this is because it was old. I'm not sure. It wasn't really hot, or even warmish. Then to be hit with the candied soft chicken, really disappointing.

The lo mein was fine. Had some sauce in the bottom. About 4 small strips of chicken and when I mean small strips, I mean small(about the width of a nail and not even 3 inches long)

I ended up asking my fiancé to try it and make sure I wasn't being ridiculous. He tried it and spit it out immediately because of how sweet and just, not good it was. I wanted to call and ask for my money back (5.00 dollar tip plus 4.50ish in fees on top of the 23 dollars for my not good food) but decided it's a loss. They're a local small business. I know for next time.

But, maybe try ordering for pick up or possibly earlier in the day so...

I ventured into the serene waters (well, more like delicious broths) of Zuang's Garden, a local Asian restaurant. Entering Zuang's Garden felt like taking a mini-vacation to a tranquil oasis. First stop - the half-tranquil-half-tacky indoor koi pond. Had to check if Aquaman was hiding out – turns out, he stays oceanside. Me? I chase waterfalls (like in the Batcave), sometimes I stick to the rivers and lakes that I'm used to. I snagged a pic while pondering the mysteries of the deep… or maybe just the next best meal. Speaking of meals, Zuang's Garden serves up a delectable spread. But here's the real hero of the story: their boba bar! I, BatmanJawn, even scaled the heights of two gloriously refreshing boba drinks for a photo op. And for those unfamiliar with these tasty treats, fear not! Zuang's Garden has a whole menu dedicated to boba flavors, each one more tempting than the last. I spent a good amount of time (okay, maybe a little longer than planned) pointing out all the options to a nearby table. Sharing is caring, right? (Though, with flavors like mango and taro, I wouldn't blame them for keeping their boba to themselves). Overall, Zuang's Garden gets a glowing review from this caped crusader. It's a place to relax, recharge, and savor some truly delicious Asian cuisine. Just don't be surprised if you see a miniature Batman action figure perched precariously on a boba cup – that's just me, enjoying a well-deserved break. 🍜🧋

Ordered tuna tataki. Got tuna tatar (see picture) even though I did not order that. Called & was told tataki is the tatar & the seared tuna is actually the pepper tuna on the menu. Who knew?! There is no tuna tatar on the menu. So why it’s on the order slip is a bit strange. Also ordered the Tom Kha Kai soup which I have had before from this restaurant. However this time there was no basil, no lemon grass & very little chicken. My mother said she only had 3 small pieces of broccoli in her meal. This was a very disappointing meal. And unfortunately not the first time. Not sure what has happened here but it used to be a favorite of mine.

Horrible service and horrible food, this place has really gone downhill. Have been there a few times, the most recent time will definitely be the last. My girlfriend ordered Pad Thai, came out looking like Soup! I ordered sweet and sour chicken and could tell it had been reheated in the microwave due to the breading on the chicken being chewy and soggy. And to top off the disgusting food the waitress was extremely rude and not very attentive. I would not recommend this restaurant.
