The kids and I wanted to try an alternative to Chili's as we burnt ourselves out eating there too much and enjoying the good values. I remember I used to love the Applebee's riblets once upon a time.
We have now been there twice so these observations were not a fluke or one off. The service leaves a lot to be desired especially the time to greet someone just seated. First occasion over 6 minutes and I had to get up and ask for our waitress, second occasion 4 minutes. Applebee's would do well to copy Chili's and get a drink runner so you get a greeting AND a drink in the customers hands right away.
We ordered the riblet platter and two kids meals. My daughter's drink wasn't good to her and we waited over 8 minutes for our waitress before I asked another employee for a new drink...to which I was informed by that employee I needed to ask my waitress. Fortunately for us another server witnessed what happened and stepped in to get my daughter a new drink while I asked for the manager. We could see our waitress talking forever with other customers and not serving her tables. I complained about the poor service as a reflection of poor management and asked for a new waitress. Although the food was ok, it took forever to get it and by this time we were starving. It was in a Sunday around 2 so it should have been properly staffed. My kids enjoyed the food but both were hungry and ate some of my riblets. My riblets were also ok but nothing like I remember them. We also were charged 20% more in total for the bill than similar door at Chili's but didn't get as good a value. The manager did discount our meal for our troubles, which was appreciated but ultimately it's the leadership there that has caused the challenges.
On our second trip back we got the 2 for $25 riblet platter with an appetizer Although the price was now comparable to Chili's we all didn't get any drinks. I would ask Applebee's to include 2 drinks in the 2 for $25 for a better value.
The kids and I discussed finding so e alternative to Applebee's as we didn't want another long wait to eat there and discussed Fridays and some other establishments. It's a shame as I had felt Applebee's would be more comparable to Chili's but lacked in both food wuality and service was times. It is possible that this Applebee's was not like others but it's doubtful we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame during lunch hour on Veterans Day, and it was packed. Food was, eh... bland, nothing too exciting. Our server was probably one of the worst servers we've had, and on Veterans Day!! I wish I could remember her name, but she was an older lady with short hair. I could definitely point her out if we saw her again. While we were ordering, my husband asked to have his one of his food items on a different plate due to a dietary reason, and I kid you not- you would have thought we insulted her. She sighed, caught a WHOLE attitude, rolled her eyes, gestured her hand up, and tapped the table (kind of like what you do when you lose a game), Mumble complained to herself I WISH I WAS BEING DRAMATIC because it was mind-boggling. We apologized before, during, and after her fit because we were not aware that she had to "redo" the order just to have one of his side dishes on a separate plate. It gets better. The people behind us had actually confronted her about her attitude because she did the same thing with them!! They had requested something for their food, and she had her fit. They had asked if she was upset at them for it because of the way she reacted, and her response was that she was just tired. They then told her that she didn't look well and that she should go home. After that confrontation, the servers attitude somewhat got better. BUT, guess what... my husband's side dish wasn't even on a separate plate like we had asked. We decided to just take the food to go and leave. Who knows what would have happened if we told her and sent the plate back.
We're never going back to this location. Customers, let alone veterans, should never have to feel anxious and scared to ask their waiter for accommodations for a dietary reason. Ridiculous. Take your money and eat...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePerfect Margaritas are the ONLY reason I would come. Service here is slow. Drink orders took almost 25 minutes, then another 10 to get our food orders in, when we were obviously ready to order by the time we got our drinks. We were told she'd be right back to take the order. Waited another 20 for food (understand, food takes time, not worried about that). Finished our food, stacked our plates, and then cleared our own table, since no one was coming to take plates. Waited more for them to bring the cake for the child's birthday that was being celebrated, but by the time they noticed we were done eating, we had decided to proceede with the night. Asked for our check, still without the cake for the child, and went to leave. The server then suggested that we were taking too long (that the service wasn't slow, it was us taking too long), when in reality the unattentiveness of the staff is what took so long. When I went to speak with a manager, was told it would be a minute, she then proceeded to engage herself in a lengthy conversation. Hostess, management, and waitress were all notified of the birthday at arrival. My daughter will choose another location next time it's her choice. Start to finish, we ended up being there for almost 2 hours, and drinks were empty most of the night. My son's grilled cheese was hard to cut with the steak knife, like it was old. Shrimp was rubbery, and the burger that was...
