The first four times my family and I came to Takashi, the service was phenomenal. For some reason, the service after that just went down. I’m not sure if they need more people or if the servers and waitresses are uneducated on the menu but they always forget at least one thing from our meal. The first time this occurred, my dad was waiting for his meal for almost 45 minutes and the waitress didn’t notice or even bothered to check on our food. I kept having to call her because she wouldn’t check on us and everytime she came we kept asking for tea. We had to let her know that we were missing most of my dads food. And tonight we gave Takashi a second chance, and they forgot my dad’s side dishes again that came with the meal. I am not sure if it’s only happening only with us but it’s a bit frustrating that we spend money here and the servers don’t even do their job well (checking our food, checking on us, refilling our teas and etc) so please hire more servers, hire more chefs or most importantly educate your employees better on what’s on the menu. It make no sense to work here and not even know what comes with...
Read moreWell worth a visit, and I will be back. The sushi is excellent, environment nice and staff attentive.
Closing time is midnight, and I arrived at 11pm to see that the mats were out and blocking the door, and end-of-day cleaning was happening. Though it was clearly the end of their wednesday, I was seated.
Beyond the open|close confusion, I had a great meal. The 'happy hour' offers are creative and generous. Beer was in short supply however, as they had already started cleaning the lines.
I had avacado tempura, which is buttery and warm and quite good. The fried gyoza happy hour order, which should be two pieces, came out as four. The filling was spicy and had good texture, and the exterior cooked crispy but nothing hard.
This restaurant offers a "Kaizen Bowl" which would be called chirashi anywhere else. Once again, the smaller happy hour size is pretty generous.
There was a nice selection of fish, and the standout pieces were Saba (mackerel) and tamago (egg). There was also tako (octopus) as well as the typical tuna/salmon/shrimp.
The prices are outstanding considering the quality...
Read moreWhat did you guys do??? Changed ownership? This place used to be so good! Stopped in today for dinner with my family. First the server (a woman) soooooo rude-I wish I would have gotten her name. They changed there menu-isn't this a sushi restaurant!?? Had about 6 specialty rolls on there menu. I asked the server about a roll they used to have and she was clueless, so unhelpful and had a attitude! Girl-you need to check your self! Don't you care? Obviously not. Was just a bad vibe and negative energy. We decided to leave because of the lack of care and respect. As we were leaving went over to the owner/sushi chef and told him about our experience with his staff, I couldn't believe he just gave me a blank stare and just shrugged his shoulders. Wow!! Do you not care that your guests just walked out of your restaurant!! And the crazy thing is that they were not even busy-it was dead in there at dinner time. Blows my mind! I guess you are rich and don't need the business. Good luck to you and your negative attitude staff! Absolutely will...
