Taps & Barrels has opened its doors and today we have tried it for the first time and we loved it!!! It is a cool 😎 and fun concept!!! It is a new unique craft beer concept taproom located in Southwest Las Vegas ( S Buffalo dr. & 215 west ). They offer 36 taps of rotating craft beers 🍻 and wine on tap. They also have delicious food and bites , live sports and entertainment. Definitely not the ordinary bar atmosphere. The concept is very simple and quite interesting. You get a beer card first at the front counter which they link it to your credit card. Then you place the beer 🍺 card into the card holder below the beer screen that you want to try and then you pour yourself a beer! You can pour how much you want and then it will give you the total amount of your pour. It is “ pour yourself concept “. We have also tried their food items and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality and the taste of the food. We had : Charcuterie Board ( highly recommend it) , Tuna Pizza - A MUST TRY, Beerhouse Pizza 🍕. Great food, very tasty and definitely worth trying it. Definitely not the bar menu, this is tapas menu and hanging out atmosphere. We have met the owner and he is very nice, courteous and attentive. The entire staff is very welcoming. Excellent service from the staff!!! The restaurant is open and modern with beautiful views and spacious patio. It has open concept with lots of seating options and several tvs for watching the game. We highly recommend it for hanging out with friends , going on a date, watching a game . Overall: Great service, great food, great beer selection, great...
Read moreTaps and Barrel is a pretty unique location that isn't to common in Las Vegas, as far as I'm concerned. Once you arrive you go straight to the front and get a tap card. This tap card is attached to your card and you can go to any of the taps they have to fill any beer you like.
They have multiple types of cups which are good for specific beers. But if you aren't too knowledgeable about it, just pick a cup that you think is cool. From there go down and just choose your beer. There's many selections, and you can pretty much try them all with just a tap of a card.
One thing that is actually pretty cool is that they have a sake tap, usually more to the right. I like getting a cup of that plus like a lighter beer and you're good to go.
Food wise they have a really good charcuterie. It's a big pretzel along side with meats and cheeses. The mustard is really good and the brie/fig combo is also great too.
The environment is really chill as you can sit anywhere you'd like, including a couple of couches which is pretty comfortable. We brought our dog a few times so we had to sit outside, but the outside is pretty spacious as well.
When you're done, all you have to do is drop your tap card in a tip bucket which indicates how much you'd like to tip. After that...
Read moreI had the worst dining experience at Taps and Barrels this past Saturday. I went in to order some appetizers, specifically chicken wings, and it turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience.
First, I placed my order and waited patiently. After 20 minutes, I asked the server about my food, and he informed me that the kitchen was backed up, but my order would be out soon. I continued to wait, only to reach 47 minutes with still no food! When I asked again, I was told it would be "just a couple more minutes."
At that point, I decided to request a refund because there is absolutely no reason why it should take nearly an hour for a simple order of chicken wings. What made this experience even worse was the lack of concern from management. No one came over to apologize, offer a solution, or even acknowledge the excessive wait time. A professional establishment would have at least offered a discount, comped the order, or provided an alternative.
Customer service is just as important as the food, and unfortunately, Taps and Barrels completely dropped the ball. I do not recommend this place based on my experience. Hopefully, they improve their service and treat their customers with more consideration...
