Cozy independently owned casual eatery located at Sunset and Buffalo near the 215 west entrance at Buffalo. First time I tried this establishment. Went for lunch. Menu consists of fried or grilled chicken sandwiches, tenders, bowls, and sides. Order from the counter and take a seat and wait for your name to be called. It is very cozy and has a modern rustic feel to the interior. Indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the Big Three Combo choosing The Original Chick Fried Chicken sandwich, fries, and a fountain drink (self-serve). It was priced at $17 plus tax. Very friendly staff. The wait time wasn't very long at all from the time I placed my order until it was received. Cooked to order. Both the sandwich and the fries were delicious. Both were more than ample portions and I left feeling full and satisfied. The sandwich is basically three fried chicken breast tenders topped with pickles, apple cabbage slaw, and honey mustard on a perfect bun. All together, these ingredients make an outstanding fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was perfectly deep fried with a delicious crunchy exterior and a perfectly cooked juicy chicken breast. The portion was bigger than expected. You definitely need two hands and a lot of napkins for this delicious sandwich. The shoestring fries were perfect with just a hint of salt and had the perfect crunch to them. I almost had the apple cabbage slaw as a side but since it was part of the sandwich, I went with the fries. They also have sweet potato fries and deep fried pickles as side options. Everything was definitely a giant step above what you would normally get at any of the chain chicken places. I do feel it was worth the price. The also have a vegan "chicken" substitute should you be vegan. Kid friendly with a couple of menu offerings as well as a selection of coloring books etc near the entrance to occupy the kids during your meal. It's very casual. They also have a drive-thru. The staff is helpful and friendly. It's very clean inside. Please support independently owned businesses and give this great...
Read moreFinally had a chance to visit the new restaurant to support it during construction in the area so the owner doesn’t have to solicit business in the chicken suit in this heat (😂😂😂). Super Cute interior. Bright and family friendly with assorted table games in a cubby toward the front. Plenty of parking located in a new strip mall conveniently locates off the 215 and Buffalo. There is an outdoor patio. Free refills on soda fountain drinks. Service was standard.
I had a chicken sandwich combo and my son tried the hot chicken sandwich. The food is made fresh and I enjoyed my sandwich! However, I wish my bun was warmed to manage the overall temperature because I felt it was cold. My son liked his sandwich but said the hot sauce tasted like general hot sauce, I agreed it tasted like typical Frank’s buffalo sauce. In general, even though the food was fresh, it was not hot (not even the fried pickles). Ample portion with me not being able to finish my sandwich. The sweet potato fries were super yummy with hits of honey and cinnamon. We did not like the ice cream, and we LOVE their Italian ice at Cafe Lola’s much better. Very skimpy with the ice cream toppings, would like to try the carrot cake next time.
The fresh quality also adds time to your visit, so this may not be a good option for a “quick” lunch unless you can call/order ahead. They also have a drive through. The restaurant was fairly busy for an early afternoon which I think most customers were happy to see because I overhead a few mention that it was busy, finally.
Prices are fair with a combo being around 18. However, two combos, fried pickles and two ice creams set me back around $65😐 which is not too bad considering we live in a tourist city, but a splurge for this broke college student. I would definitely visit again because I would rather support a small, local business than national...
Read moreAfter leaving a negative review for a certain gluten-free fast food restaurant in a local gluten-free group on Facebook, someone in the comments suggested trying 3 Little Chicks. I'm so glad that I did!
This spot is tucked away and their website doesn't advertise that they're gluten-free, but almost all of their food is gluten free except some buns, some desserts and some sauces. Their fried foods are all gluten-free so Celiacs like me don't have to worry about cross contamination from a shared fryer.
I was surprised at how generous the sides were for the price. $3.50 for a probably a McDonald's size large / xl large French fries. They're actually good, skinny fries, not the nasty crinkle cut fries served at Shake Shack and Raising Cane's.
For $4 I got a generous portion of deep fried dill pickles - the first I've had since my Celiac diagnosis. They were delicious.
While a tad bit expensive, the $9 3 piece crispy chicken tenders were fresh, obviously made in-house and were white meat chicken. They came with a side of sauce that tastes nearly identical to Raising Cane's sauce.
I got a free gluten-free chocolate chip cookie for checking in on Yelp. I ate that first while waiting for my food. I immediately needed to use the restroom after eating the cookie. I don't know if there might have been some cross contamination or if my stomach was weird after a tea with nata that I had just finished and it was weird timing. Luckily I didn't have any nausea so I'm choking it up to weird timing.
The restaurant was clean and cutely decorated, the wait wasn't too bad and the bathrooms were spotless. That's always a good sign. The staff were also very pleasant.
Despite the fact it's a bit of a drive, I would definitely come here again as a Celiac. My husband tried the food and he said nobody would know it was...
