EDIT TO ADD... To top it all off, she did some shady stuff on her Facebook reviews to get herself back up to 5 stars. After our reviews were left her rating was at a 4.1, now it's back to 5. She responded and then blocked me before giving me an opportunity to respond. Just wanted yall to know who you're dealing with.

I referred a my aunt to Lori for a Game Warden retirement cake after having 4 wonderful cakes made by her, and one other for a referral. They have always been great, but this time was beyond unpleasant.

My aunt drove over an hour in a major storm to be at her house before 9am as instructed. She got there early to ensure Lori wasn't late for her full time job. When she arrived several of her calls went ignored and she got a text saying Lori was on a delivery but would be available at pickup time. 9am rolls around, and nobody comes back from a delivery, nobody comes out of the house. She simply tells my aunt she would deliver the cake later that afternoon instead and and told her she was already at work without any true remorse, while sounding like she had just woken up. She said since she was already at work she wasn't leaving, and that it didn't matter that my aunt drove there because she would deliver it. ZERO remorse.

So she went on a delivery after telling her to be there by/before 9am, and then just goes to work while knowing a customer is waiting in her driveway for a cake that was already supposedly made, and offers to deliver it instead - without even knowing where it needed to be delivered to? 🤔

She laughed and acted like it was insane that my aunt sat in her driveway for nearly 2 hours, waiting on a cake that was supposed to be done. She called me condescending, and acted like my aunt was a lunatic because she could tell she was panicked due to not having the cake she was promised.

When she finally arrived with the cake, it was nothing like was expected. My friend I referred her to previously even thought I had made the cake myself when I sent her a picture of it before telling her the story. She immediately made the comment we were all thinking and said it looks like she outsourced it because this is not the normal work we see.

Lori had sent example pictures with rope detailing between the layers and everything, but the cake we got literally Christmas greenery on it with fake snow and pine cones. The fake snow was speckled throughout the cake had fallen off of the Christmas greenery, which I'm sure is not edible, and the wording was crooked and individually placed letters rather than engraved into fondant like she gave as an example. The cake itself was solid icing and didnt have any fondant on it, which I'm sure she was charged for. This was supposed to be an elegant Game Warden/Law Enforcement retirement cake, and each of the small badges at the bottom were supposed to be large and individually placed on the cake layers themselves, with a large embellished badge on the top. My aunt specifically said she did not want edible images, yet that's exactly what we got.

After driving all the way from New Waverly to Cypress in a storm, being ignored, and seemingly lied to, my aunt didn't immediately accept the a refund Lori offered that morning out of fear that her wonderful cake wouldn't end up being delivered, and she'd be stuck without a cake for a major event. If the cake would have been the same quality we have seen 5 times before, we would have let it go, but considering the quality of this cake (not to mention the attitude and unprofessionalism), every single person who knows the past cakes have said a refund should be given - but she is now refusing.

I don't know what happened in the last 2 years or so since ordering from her, but this was the last time for us and any referrals....

I purchased a custom cake and it was no where near the quality that was expected and received in the past. The guest thought the custom cake fell threw and it was actually one that was pieced together last minute by us. She delivered it 6.5 hours later than promised. The topper was broken, blurry and off centered. The badges and patches were expected to be like the ones on the firefighter cake in her gallery. They looked like cardboard with scrap paper modged podge and were not even centered. The letters were not straight. It looked like a child did the cake. And she stuck cheap plastic Christmas flowers on the cake. We have ordered four cakes from her before. but this was poor quality and poor craftsmanship. I drove 2 hours because I was told the cake had to be picked up BY 9 am because she had a full time job she had to go to. I arrived early in plenty of time not to delay her from her job. She claimed she was not home. and out making deliveries. I told her I would wait. I waited two hours and she never arrived nor told me she wasn't coming to our appointment. Told me she would deliver after I wasted 4.5 hours drive time and waiting on her to no show. Because of this fiasco I was unable to finish decorating for a once in a lifetime event. I have photos and text messages to back all of this. We have received beautifully crafted cakes in the past. My crime scene cake and my sons Boba Fett helmet and gave raving reviews. I have never left anyone a poor review for anything that I can recall. Unprofessional, and very surreal ordeal to say the least. I will happy to provide photos, as it is not allowing me to add them.

She says she offered a refund...this was when she wasn't there at pick up time to give me my cake the morning of the event. She offered to cancel the order and refund my money. Of course I didn't want a refund. I had no plan B. I needed my cake. I thought I would receive a beautiful cake. Not a complete joke! Once I saw the cake I asked for a refund. Its horrible. She refused. If anyone thinks I received exactly what I asked for, do a search on Facebook and you will see the cake pics. Im not being picky. If my post will save one person, and god forbid a bride. the stress, money and embarrassment, it is worth it. I paid $260 for the cake! I was scammed. I'm not sure what is going on with her or what happened. But she totally dropped the ball and is blaming me. I was there waiting on her at a 9 am appointment, early, and she no showed. She then said, after I waited for two hours, that it would be noon before she was back from deliveries. After she said she would make the 9 am time! That she and three other people carpooled early that morning making deliveries in a van. Then she popped off and said it was hard to make a cake delivery in a Prius! She couldn't keep her...

My wife was turning the big 40 and like a person who had no idea what he was getting himself into I agreed to plan the birthday bash. Out of all the hundreds of tasks, the cake was the easiest. not because the task itself is easy, it was easy because of Lori with her patience and expertise. She had me go to her site to get some direction since I had none haha. Lori walked me through the process and relieved my anxiety. So the plan was layed out.

When my cake was finished Lori sent me a picture of the cake and I was blown away. It was beautiful and she took the vision we made together and took it to the next level. Lori is a beast.

The cake tasted amazing. All the guests asked where I got the cake and commented on how delicious it was. Do not second-guess yourself. Order from Lori and be blown away. I will not use...
