Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Springfield

I came in today 09/27/2025. I gave it 2 stars because our waiter titus was amazing i wish i could have gave i Just him 5 stars but Angel definitely deserves 0 stars. We were having a birthday dinner for my sons 16th birthday. There were 25 people in attendance. My 1st complaint is you dont take reservations for a crowd that size. 2nd when you call to give a heads up it is non chalent I dont care attitude. My next compliment is how we were treated by the GM Angel and how long we waited for our food. We got there at 4. There was a good majority of the party there but we were waiting on a few people. We placed drink orders and appetizers and some ordered food for their little ones. Mind you this shindig started at 4pm. When everyone got there we then all ordered our food. Again there is 25 of us we have taken over an entire section. Everyone's food except mine one of my sons and my husband's food has come out. We waited 2 hrs for our food to come out. When we finally said something to Angel about it sje rudely with an attitude said well the kitchen was busy and we have a lot of parties. Mind you we have been at the restraunt since 4 everyone arrived by 5 530 we didnt get our food until almost 7. She had no care in the world. Now I get at 5 it did start to get busy but why did everyone else in my party get their food and we had to wait 2 hrs. And for the GM not to take responsibility and blame it on everything else. Her attitude was disgusting. Now let me.sing praises about oir waiter. His name was titus. He was absolutely amazing. He was very attentive he was kind je was trying to get our food out. He kept checking on us. His attitude was amazing he was apologetic he has the true meaning of customer service. Honestly if I was in charge I would fire Angel who seems to not care about her customers and put titus in her spot because he actually cares. If she keeps running the place like she is she is going to run it into the ground. If you go there ask for Mary Beth or Titus. They will treat amazing and get...

The food was fine, service wasn’t so great at all. Me and my boyfriend went there today just for a simple nice day out together. But we got there it was about a five minute wait ehich was not a big deal the hostess explained they’re a bit short staffed in waiters and thst was alright.

What really gets me though is our waiter, We ordered the trio appetizer and that came out almost instantly but once we got done it sounded like his generosity was forced with us when had a bit of an attitude when he asked if we were gonna order food as well it sounded like he didn’t want us there. But we ordered our food and another table rhat was there long before us got their food its just to me our order went in first then the table across from us put theyre a in after but they got there food first and then we got ours cause he wasn’t thinking or something I don’t know And the refills?

Terrible.. just absolutely triple my boyfriend usually gets like 4 - 5 refills cause he loves sweet tea. No hardly got checked on and hardly got that many refills I think like in total we both got on refill each and that was it.

But we had to wait ehat felt like 20 minutes just to get the check and to go boxes cause we had to leave soon. But the waiter seemed more focused on other customers than us 😤 ehich is fine but shouldn’t you check on all of yours tables in your section instead of just curtain ones? He hardly was around for us to get his attention or anything. Just absolutely terrible service. I never felt so unwelcome me at a restaurant until now.. and what happened to the trays? Our waiter came out with our food not using a tray and I noticed that with most table in his section so it wasn’t just us. Like I get it if it’s a few plates but what happened to the trays? Another thing is he seemed eager for us to leave. The only nice I have to say abiut this experience is the hostess and manager that is all. I take my kids out to dinner once a week. It was just my daughter and I and she chose to go to Applebees this time. We're arrived at 6:10pm and found they were fairy busy- a 25-35 minute wait. We were ok with though so I put our names in snd we went back to the car and waited for 20 minutes just because it was fairly crowded in the waiting area. We came back and saw our name was still on the seating chart so we sat down in the waiting area and waited. And waited. And waited more.

People came and were seated. They were largest groups- 6, 8 people so I didn't think much of it and just played with my daughter on jet tablet or browsed on my phone. Not hearing our name called at all.

I am very patient but eventually I had realized nearly an hour had passed. Eventually a group of 3 came in- a man, woman, and baby. They waited maybe 10 minutes and were seated. It was then I went to to talk to the host to find out what was going on. OUR NAME WAS WIPED OFF THE CHART! I had seen her write it down and you could faintly see my name.

I was livid. Not because I had been waiting so long but because a nice night with with daughter was screwed up what ever incompetence caused this to happen. We immediately left. She was bummed out, but the night was not a complete loss. She was ok with just have a nice meal at Cane's just...
