Review for Hola Restaurant
Hola is a hidden gem in Springfield, MA among Dominican restaurants, offering a truly delightful culinary experience. From the moment you step through the door, you are greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service. The staff is not only friendly but incredibly attentive, ensuring that every need is met with a genuine eagerness to please.
The highlight of Hola's menu has to be the mangu. It stands out for its perfect balance of flavors, being deliciously good taste without being overly salty or greasy. Each bite offers a taste of the Caribbean, fresh and vibrant, showcasing the kitchen's dedication to quality and authenticity.
But it's not just the mangu and freshly squeezed orange 🍊 juices that's remarkable; everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. Whether you're in the mood for traditional dishes or looking to try something new, Hola delivers with consistency and flair. The dishes are well-prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor, making it clear that this restaurant takes great pride in its culinary offerings.
A special mention must go to the 70-year-old lady who cooks at Ola. Her expertise and professionalism shine through in every dish. She is truly the best of the best, bringing years of experience and a deep love for Dominican cuisine to the table. Her cooking elevates the dining experience, making each meal unforgettable.
Ola's atmosphere is equally inviting. The ambiance is cozy yet lively, making it an ideal spot for a family dinner, a casual lunch with friends, or even a romantic date night. The décor reflects the rich culture of the Dominican Republic, enhancing the overall dining experience.
In summary, Ola is a standout Dominican restaurant that excels in both food and service. The delightful mango, combined with a menu full of delicious options, the exceptional hospitality of the staff, and the unparalleled skill of their 70-year-old chef, make it a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Dominican cuisine in a welcoming and friendly environment. Don't miss out on this absolutely delicious...
Read moreThis place has loads of charm and character. Everybody seems to know everybody, and neighborhood people stroll in to say hello to various staff members or other patrons. When my wife and I walked in the first thing we noticed was a display case filled with doughnuts, eclairs, popovers, etc., and we wondered if we had mistakenly wandered into a bakery. We almost walked out, but we were glad we didn’t. Right beyond the desserts is a steam table of delicious Dominican fare. Be warned: None of the staff speaks English particularly well, but they’re super friendly and they go out of their way to help you. Fortunately, during our visit there was a young Dominican woman customer from the neighborhood who translated as we made our order, which made things much easier. Oh, also, the place is so new, there were no menus or board describing items and listing prices. So basically we just pointed at different dishes and our friendly neighborhood translator explained if it was beef or pork or chicken (some of the dishes it was pretty obvious, others not so much). Anyway, my wife decided on a beef dish with peppers, and I went with a staff recommendation, which was another slightly different beef dish with peppers and onions. My wife also got black beans and rice while I got what was described as a Dominican variation of beans and rice. I also added a bowl of black beans and some sliced avocado as sides, and we shared a lemonade. Total price for the two us? $18. Great deal! Everything was delicious. During our visit, we were the only people who dined in, but there were a lot of takeout orders. When we were leaving the women in charge apologized for her limited English and explained that the restaurant is new and they planned on getting menus and a board soon. We...
Read moreCame here on Mother's Day morning 2023. My wife and I wanted some Dominican breakfast and we came here after seeing good reviews and photos. The staff was very friendly and were able to accommodate special requests regarding juices that they did not have posted and changing menu items for kids. Everything they made was fresh and we did have to wait a little but as long as it tasted good we did not mind. The food came out, I had ordered a omelette with cheese, onions, and peppers and fries for the kids, my wife ordered mangú with tres golpes (mashed plantains with butter, red onions, fried salami, fried egg, avocado, and fried cheese), my daughters order pancakes with bacon, and my little one wanted rice. We all liked the food! My eggs were tasty and satisfying, my wife ate the whole thing (that means she liked it), my daughters did not like the look of the pancakes, however, when they tried them, they ate all the pancakes and bacon. My little one enjoyed the rice. We also ordered morir soñando (orange juice, condensed milk, and milk) and 1 parcha con leche (passion fruit with milk). We also enjoyed the music. They played some Christian music then some old school latin ballads. I would definitely come back is near by and...
