I've been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while, but it's only open from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. so it was rare for me to get an opportunity to check it out. I was greeted immediately when I walked in and I was happy to see that it wasn't super busy despite the fact that it was around noon. I was seated immediately at one of the tables overlooking the beautiful view of the river. The menu includes breakfast and lunch staples with a few special items like a Vermont salad, but I was really excited to try the pulled pork barbecue sandwich because I love barbecue and I rarely have it. The presentation is very cute- sandwich on the tray with wax paper printed to look like London newsprint that you get at a fish and chip shop- but I was ultimately disappointed by the sandwich itself. The meat texture was okay but flavor was completely missing and for some reason the only barbecue part of it was a little dish of barbecue sauce on the side that I was supposed to either dip my sandwich into or pour onto my sandwich- it wasn't really clear which. The homemade chips that came with the sandwich were incredible though. I would definitely recommend if you are coming for lunch to get those chips. I hope to come back at some point in the future and try one of the other dishes; I'm definitely not trying to render judgment on any other food item in the menu other than the one that I tried. I was disappointed that they didn't have any non-dairy milk to go in my coffee though. that seems like a pretty basic thing these days, but the coffee wasn't too strong so I could drink it black. not the end of the world. All in all, it was a lovely experience as a person dining alone and I really loved the relaxed atmosphere even as the restaurant started to fill up with more patrons by the time I was leaving. Also, the price is extremely reasonable for the type and quality of food! but doing a sandwich by sandwich comparison, I would recommend the Springfield diner over this place for...
Read moreHorrible... pretty much sums up the quality of food and service at Maebellines. 15 dollars for some chicken tenders and fries Is unacceptable. Especially when they claim they are battered and crispy only to bring out unbattered chicken that's been tossed in the deep fryer. BBQ pulled pork? More like pulled pork with BBQ sauce squirted on top straight from the bottle. No love is put into the food or service, and it shows. After bringing up my issues regarding my chicken to the staff I was told I was wrong and those were crispy fried tenders. You be the judge... I won't be going back. I presume they will last about 3 or 4 months like the last nasty food place and close down. Good reddens
EDIT: They are still open!!! only old dying people eat there because they can't taste anything anyways. i imagine they lose money each month as everyone other than the towns senior citizens eat there. Nobody has anything good to say about the food quality or service. like all the other food joints that have been at that location it won't be long before another sign goes up! FOR LEASE!!! They are indeed Struggling.... imagine all the people in town who don't go and review online for others to get the heads up... This place is a solid 1 star, trust me Go...
Read moreHands down one of the BEST experiences I’ve had in a long time! From the moment I sat down, it was good vibes all around. Let’s talk about that country fried steak with fried eggs—chef’s kiss! Paired with a hot cup of coffee? 10/10. Flavorful, hearty, and cooked to perfection.
The service? Impeccable. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. It made the whole experience feel like a warm hug.
And the portions? Oh, they’re generous. You definitely get your money’s worth here.
Now let’s not forget the view—so peaceful, it instantly slowed everything down and made the meal even better.
Highly, HIGHLY recommend. If you’re thinking about going, this is your sign. 10/10...
