Back in 2012-2018, I used to love coming to Olympians for lunch. The gyro platter was my favorite. Even then, the price was a bit on the high side, but the food was delicious, so Iād call it a treat and give in. But today, I literally had to turn around and walk out the store and Iām so sad because I was looking forward to having a gyro. I hadnāt had one from Olympians in a couple years so I was looking forward to itā¦So I went in and ordered a gyro (just a gyro: no fries, chips, drink, etc); she said $14 and change and just kinda held out her hand like: pay nowā¦I said what? $15 for just a gyro? She said, āyesāā¦I thanked her and walk right back out.
Iām sorry, but even if I was rich (which Iām sooo NOT!šš¤·š¾āāļøš¤£), Iāll never be down for overspendingā¦and to charge $15 for a gyro is price gouging in my opinion. A lot of business have been taking advantage of us consumers since the pandemic hit back in 2020 and Iāve been staying away from those places.
So the bottom line: Olympians has good food, for sure; but I canāt support them anymore because their super high prices has forced me to remove them from my āeat outā rotation. My Husband and I walked a few feet across the parking lot to Mission BBQ and got two pulled chicken sandwiches that are just as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTo the manager at the lovely "family" restaurant I just took my beautiful family out to eat at,
Yes, I noticed you watching our every move from the moment we walked in, to the moment we got up to leave. I noticed as you whispered to the waitress to come ask us "what we wanted", instead of if we were ready yet while we glanced over the menu and balanced our toddler. I noticed you cringing every time she laughed or babbled to her mommy and daddy. I noticed you staring at us throughout our ENTIRE meal, making us too uncomfortable to even eat. I noticed when you walked past and glared at each and every one of my husband and I's tattoos up and down. I know what you were doing, I know you thought "people like us" couldn't possibly afford to eat at your wonderful restaurant, or be responsible for the child we brought along, I know you thought we would skip the bill. I hope you enjoyed being proved wrong as we paid our check, left an honest tip, and smiled at you as we left. I hope next time you'll think before you judge a book...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to Olympians a number of times and this was another enjoyable meal. I love the casual, family atmosphere and the wide selection of the menu. The service throughout our meal was warm and friendly. We had 5 in our group, friends and family. I normally get the chicken souvlaki which is really good. But I wanted to try the steak and cheese sub this time. It comes with provolone cheese, which is my favorite way to have it. There was also lettuce, tomato and grilled onions and mayo. It came with rippled potato chips, which I enjoyed. But I could have switched that for French fries or other sides if I'd wanted to.
My friend got pork chops that came with buttered corn and mashed potatoes & gravy. He said it was really good. The gravy looked SO good! As many times as I've eaten there, I don't think I've ever managed to save room for dessert. I had to take half of my sandwich and chips home. They were just as good the next day as leftovers. I'm looking forward to my next visit...
