Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Virginia

We went to this location because it was in the shopped center were we grabbed dinner.

We decided to walk to over because we were waiting for our food.

The first 2 smoothies they made for us were not blended well and pieces of ice kept getting stuck in our straws so we returned them. One of the smoothies was a mocha madness. When they handed the mocha madness smoothie to me it was really light and did not look like a mocha madness. The server then told me that he did not put the amount of ingredients the smoothie required because it was going to be really strong. What, really? At that point I started to ask him if the employees get to decide how a smoothie should be made versus using the amount of ingredients the recipe calls for. I just had him remake it a SECOND time.

I also noticed that the employees were smirking as if it was some kind of joke.

I would not recommend this location.. If you decide to go there, order a smoothie that you are familar with because the practice seems to be use less ingredients! I wish I would have taken a picture! ...

I've been coming to this place for years, which is the only reason why I'm rating this 2 stars rather than 1, in the hope that today was just a complete fluke. Coming here today, I had without a single doubt the most depressing smoothie of my life today. In the past, I've ordered the Peanut Paradise with no problems, and it's my favorite drink there. That being said, when I ordered today I received a Peanut Paradise that came without peanut, banana, soy, and that I honestly think was just blended ice. For $5.29, that's just completely disappointing to receive. I even came at a relatively relaxed time (there was maybe 3 other customers), but it seems that mine was the only order the ball was completely dropped on. I'd been looking forward to coming here since I hadn't been in a while, but I honestly don't think I'll be returning here anytime soon in the future, if at all. Its only saving grace is that I know their Bahama Mama is still good, but if I ordered it I doubt I'd get anything other than blended ice...

Order a sandwich without chicken and no tomato. It’s a favorite of mine so I know how it’s made and comes. When ordering I had reminded her two or three times that I said no tomatoes and no chicken. When I saw them making it with chicken I reminded her I asked for no chicken, I assume she’s new which is perfectly understandable. She started picking the chicken off which is fine I truly don’t care that much but the sandwich is pressed afterwards to melt everything together. I didn’t get that. It was folded and handed to me as if she didn’t know who the order was for. If you are irritated because I made you pick off the chicken like I asked for in the first place so you decide to not finish the sandwich.. why am I spending money here? Was the entire place new because there was no helping each other and checking mistakes before they go out the door? Did no one care because it was an hour before leaving? Like I’m just at a loss for words as to why I was treated with...
