I really wanted to give a 5 star review, because I really enjoyed eating food from Rally's twice, in the last week, but there are some corporate decisions that will do serious long term harm to customer loyalty. Points worth mentioning: Their fries are better than Five Guys. They could, for $5, be a little more generous, when filling those cups, though. The staff is friendly, and my order is always accurate. A Rallyburger &/or Big Buford combo with a Fry-Lover's fry would be nice (presently, if I order a combo, with a Fry-Lover's fry, I pay for the combo, but only receive the sandwich and the drink. The fries are a separate line/item, at full price.) The online menu does not allow a Fry-Lover's to be ordered with a combo; only small, medium & large. This is the case, when ordering online or at the drive-thru. Apparently, there is a Fry-Lover's Combo, but the drive-thru menu (2 days ago) is too large and complex to find it, and I didn't see it on the online menu (last night). To be honest, Checker's/Rally's menu of burgers, hotdogs, wings, chicken and fish is too complex. It wouldn't surprise me if you were to study the sales of each menu item, and find out that a lot of time, effort, storage, expense and waste happens in half of your menu items, that make up a disproportionately small segment of sales. Final Note: The Automated Drive-thru Voice Prompt system is weird, and "not ready for prime-time". Automate the greeting, possibly automate the read-back of the order and the total. I won't care (or even notice) if the ordering is handled by VOIP, outsourced to a centralized call center, or how it's done, but human interaction, while ordering food is much better than talking to an...
Read moreI love the food but it seems like Rally's just doesn't pay enough or is otherwise not a good place to work as all the locations in Springfield and Central Ohio in general are very understaffed. The staff they do have seem unhappy and/or very poorly trained. I know it's fast food and I don't expect much, but it would be nice if they managed the stores better and perhaps paid better to attract and keep better staff. It makes a huge difference. The food is usually correct, but you have to double-check and you can't get too complicated. My biggest issue is the very long wait time which can be upwards of 20 minutes if there's nearly no line and usually the food is not hot. I'm not sure what to make of the lukewarm food. I see it come out of the back and into the sack? I've honestly never got sick from eating at Rally's so I can't complain too much. Their fries are the seasoned kind. Their new steak sandwich is pretty good but rather rich. Overall don't expect much and you will won't have far to go, but I really love the big Buford and the regular rally burger is a...
Read moreThe robot ordering system is terrible. Nowhere on the menu or displayed outside anywhere are the three new $1.99 sandwiches I keep seeing on commercials. I don't know what they're called. So I couldn't order them because you can't ask the robot anything. So I got a sandwich off of the menu. Did not order it as a triple but got charged with a triple. This sandwich was so massive. Nobody could ever open up their mouth big enough to even eat it. When I got up to the window there was a rude black man working. He did not seem to like when I asked him what my order was. The price showed that it was charging me for a triple. And I told him I didn't order a triple. He told me that wasn't what I was paying for or nor what I was getting. Well, I got my sandwich and it was a triple. Got my receipt and that was a triple. I do not live in this area but I was passing by traveling and really wanted one of those new sandwiches. As often as I drive to Dayton to visit family, I will not...
