UPDATE 4/13/22: This location is often VERY slow. Don't come here if you're on your lunch break, even if you order well in advance using the app. You'll likely be waiting. Food is good, but don't come here if you've got less than 40 minutes to spare. Sometimes you'll get lucky and they'll be reasonably quick, but usually not.
Pretty disappointed with my Schlotzsky's experience today. After a slow morning at work, I decided to bring my husband lunch during his 30 minute lunch break. Ordered my food at the drive thru with plenty of time to spare before his lunch break began, so I could get to his place of work in time. When I got to the window, I paid for my food, and then was asked to pull around the building to wait for food. No problem, that happens sometimes.
Anyway, after waiting around the building for about 12 minutes while the cars behind me were all getting their food and leaving, I decided to go in and ask about my order. It was approaching time for my husband's break to begin, and I still didn't have food. Walked inside, and politely told the woman at the counter that I had ordered about 17 minutes prior and still didn't have food. She apologized, said she had noticed me waiting outside and "wondered what was going on" (but I guess she didn't take initiative to investigate it) and went to check on it. At the window, she pulled down two other bags of food, neither of which were mine, talked to an employee or two, and then walked back over. She apologized again and then offered me a cookie for my wait. Nice, but didn't change the fact that my husband's lunch break was underway by this time, and he was waiting for his food. Again, this entire time, people were going through the drive thru and inside, getting their food. No explanation for the delay, but I get it, sometimes things happen. I wait another 8 minutes, and still no food. So I ask the woman at the front if she thinks it will be much longer. At this point, my husband would have to inhale his food even if they gave me my order right then. She apologized again, went to their order counter and talked to more employees. She came back and told me that they had given my order to someone else mistakenly, and that they were remaking it now. As in they JUST started remaking it, after I had been waiting 30 minutes and had had to prompt them for my food two times. She offered me more free items, like a Cinnabon or cookie.
Ultimately, I waited 39 minutes for two sandwiches and some soup. I had to walk inside and prompt employees two times before enough effort was expended to investigate what had happened and where my order was. I missed my husband's lunch break entirely, someone else got the wrong food, and I still paid full price for my meal. Really disappointing experience. My husband told me that he used to go to this Schlotzsky's for lunch sometimes, but had to quit going because he had similar issues with waiting 30 minutes for one sandwich. I could have gone to a sit down restaurant for the time this took and the price I paid. The food was good, but not worth the wait.
Beware going to this location if you are on any sort of time crunch at all. Set aside an hour or more to get your...
Read moreWorked here when store was owned by Albert and even ate here occasionally because the food was great and the owner was fantastic to work for. General Managers start out friendly but then become complicit in showing favoritism while screwing over employees that aren't their favorite. General managers often make verbal agreements, then breaking those agreements later (which is illegal in Missouri by the way. Verbal agreements are still considered legally binding contracts). Add to it with the change in store ownership in 2018 and the store went downhill quickly with several employees leaving for work that have less in-store politics. Owner and/or general manager doing everything they can to force people to quit so they don't have to pay unemployment. When they do fire you, they don't give the reason why, but will make up an excuse for the unemployment agency when they contact the general manager to avoid paying compensation. They often refuse to fill out and/or accept incident reports for workplace injuries, which is illegal. Raises are rare and they try to find reasons not to pay experienced workers what they're worth, including limiting an employees hours in hopes of making them quit so they can hire new employees at minimum wage. Store has ran out of product on several occasions because they never order enough product. So sad to see the store that Albert ran for years be ran to the ground like this all because the store changed ownership with a shift in management. Not ever sure if any of the great managers are there anymore or if they themselves got screwed over by the higher ranking management and...
Read moreOn Sept. 6th, 2025 @ 5:54 pm, we stopped at Schlotzsky's 1316 N Glenstone Ave for dinner. While in the Store, noticed a window poster (See Photo) advertisement, $5.00 Pizzas after 5pm & decided to order Two Pizzas. When ordering, the counter associate informed us that offer is NOT valid. I pointed at the window poster & He politely asked if I wanted to speak to the Manager. The Manager, informed me, She can NOT honor the advertised offer. I pointed her the window poster! She said, "After 5pm the price of Pizza is $10.00 and she was waiting for new poster for the replacement and RUDELY marched off back to the food prep area. No Apology offered. The initial Counter associate was polite and apologetic. The Counter associate would be the PERFACT replacement for the Manager who was on duty that day.
I will NEVER eat at any...
