My husband and I tried this place in 2021. We had an okay service experience but the food was really lacking. My husband got shrimp and it tasted off. The nachos weren’t great. But In an effort to support local and give folks another try, we tried it again today. We headed in for lunch. The lay out is complicated and the walls are over doused with dusty decor. Too much going on to be able to keep everything clean.
The servers was gracious and friendly. The food was not. The chips and salsa were okay. Classic and tasted like a staple.
We got the fajitas for two with chicken and steak. We avoided shrimp because of our prior experience. The presentation was nice. It looked okay when it arrived. However, the chicken breast was really dry and felt like it had been grilled a while ago. The steak seemed to have a sour taste to it that me this it was off and possibly too old to serve. It wasn’t dry, just something in it tasted off. I am Latina, I love fajitas and Mexican food dearly. And I want this place to excel. We did let the waitress know the food wasn’t good but didn’t ask that it be free. I am of the school of thought that if you opt to try something you pay for it whether it was good or not. Sadly, Toreros has an aged feel in its food and it’s decor. I think most of the profit comes from their gaming side. Which, is totally fine if that works for their customer base. I would love it if this place improved. Having Latin food near by that’s fresh and flavorful in a sit down restaurant would be great. Right now it’s just not...
Read moreToreros is the closest Mexican Restaurant to where I live, & being a lover of Mexican cuisine almost on the daily I have visited this restaurant on numerous occasions. I do have to say this last time I ordered something different than my usual, because I'm assuming it depends on the cook for that day I would typically order the chicken fajitas but that being said, sometimes they're a hit & miss, & for the price you pay for them I didn't want to chance it this time dinning in. So I ordered their chimichanga, which is stated on the menu to be one of their smaller serving choice's. That on a different occasion I hadn't noticed the statement stating that fact, so the first time I ordered it I was somewhat disappointed by the small chimi for the price they charge for it, & I was also on the super hungry side & my small chimichanga wasn't going to cut it. So I opted to add a very large strawberry margarita on the rocks, that also has a hefty price but they do you right on their drinks, & you definitely get a lot of bang for your buck there. Which completely filled me up along with my chimi, & the small portion was no longer a thought on my mind! Lol All in all, the staff is for the most part attentive to your needs, the prices seem a bit steep in my opinion but order yourself a giant signature drink, & you'll forget...
Read moreI’ve been going for over 15 years and never had a issue. But I did now. We were seated, 10 minutes pass, no water or chips. Then 3 Mexican men walk in and immediately they get service. I asked the waitress if we get chips and drinks”of course “she’s says and walks away, so we wait. 15 minutes go by, nothing. Then a Mexican family walk in ,sit down. They are served immediately. I then raise my hand, they see us & realize we are not happy. They bring us drinks and chips. They take others orders then walk away. Moments later, then come take our Oder. The other 2 tables now have all their food. 30+ minutes later we get food, it’s COLD!! So I tell them to take it back I don’t want it. Politely I told the owner the situation and all he could say was sorry were short staffed. NO you weren’t because waitress and busboys were everywhere. you’re waitresses blatantly, ignored us to help the other tables that were Mexicans. I’m not the type of person to go there about race but it was as obvious as the sky is blue. I will never go there or recommend and will make sure I tell everyone about our experience there. I hope that if you’re not Mexican that you get treated better then we did if you decide to take the chance. My advice is to go somewhere else honestly....
