Waffle House — Restaurant in Springfield

I went here on a Friday night, Black Friday, after 10pm. It wasn't real busy but there were other customers. I haven't been to Waffle House in several years. We weren't greeted like they usually do the second your feet are enter. That's ok. Maybe the rules changed. All the tables appeared to be clean. The waitress came to the table and immediately wanted to know what we wanted. I had to get up an get my own menu too. My friend an I looked at each other like WTH we just sat down. We told her we needed a few minutes but ordered drinks. I guess they had a big to go order because it took a while for her to come back but she hollered over a time or 2 an said she'd be right there. She was a very nice young lady. We ordered our food an it took longer than usual. I never even heard her YELL THE ORDER out like they usually do. The food came and of course it was already cold. I'm sure it got cold on the way to the table cause it was freezing in this place. We couldn't even take out coats off. Wonder who pays that electric bill. Wish they'd pay mine too. We ate the food anyway cause we were hungry. That's the reason for the 2 star. I wanted to play the jukebox but it wasn't really a jukebox. It was some modern day BS that an older person such as myself wouldn't understand how it worked. The waitress didn't even know. The table behind us was crowded with young folks who had been out partying and were so loud an obnoxious it was annoying. Maybe they should have a designated OVER 55 time so I don't have to deal with stuff like...

Our son was in town and never been to a Waffle House so we took him there for dinner. There were 5 of us, the only 5 in the entire restaurant with 2 servers and the “manager” Jason, the entire time they screaming back and forth about who they don’t like to work with and why, the manager was in the middle of the conversation. Talking to the 2 servers like were all just hanging out together, calling them sweetheart and such. We waited and waited, the server finally brings some of the food but tells us they burnt the bacon, and a waffle so they had to start over! The food she did bring was cold, they were all to busy screwing around. When I talked to the “so called manager”, he tried to say it was the grills fault, even though we were listening and watching them the entire time. When I called him out on it he was rude and disrespectful asking what exactly did I want him to do about recook everything! I told him no I wanted him to act like a manager and take care of the 5 customers in the restaurant, he never tried to do anything about any of it, just told the girl to void the ticket! He was rude, clothes all messy, bo name tag or Waffle House attire, his interaction with the 2 servers there was inappropriate. We left without eating the food! In a time where it is hard to get people to come to work we are very understanding but wrong is wrong and everything about this was wrong! We won’t be back and it used to be one of our...

If they had zero stars I'd give that but 1 star is more then this place should have. Serve was almost none. Very slow waitress. Didn't care about if you had your food or not let it set till cold. Didn't get the order right didnt get onions till done eating to late never got my glass of milk. She was to busy trying to look busy. To wait on people. I would not tell anyone about this place except do not go here you won't be happy plus 2 eggs and hash hashbrowns and a breakfast bowl was 20 plus dollars. I could of had a better breakfast at Mc Donald's for sure. Thats how bad this place is. The water they make their tea and coffee with is full of chlorine. Couldn't drink the tea at all even after adding stuff to it. Coffee was bad too. Food was ok it was cooked good just not right on the hashbrowns. And serve was very bad let our food set and get cold before she got it to us. Went to get the onions for hashbrowns she never came back left them set till I was done with my eggs hashbrowns didn't taste good to me with out onions in them. So didn't eat them so I had 2 eggs and 2 pieces of cold hard toast. Bad place won't go back...
