Gray Fox Kitchen and Cocktails — Restaurant in Springhill Township

10/10. This was my first time here after being recommended by a friend. Upon walking in I loved the layout and style of the restaurant. By about 6:30pm on a Monday night the restaurant was pretty full but the seating is spaced out enough for privacy and comfort with your group. I made a reservation online the morning of and I’m glad I did. Service was attentive and friendly. The owner was our server and was very nice as well. The food was really good. I got the jam smashburger with fries and both were excellent and full of flavor. My friends got salmon (I got to try it and it was incredible!) I’m definitely going to try more things next time I stop in. This is the kind of restaurant I feel like Morgantown is lacking. It’s a great spot to catch up with friends, go on a date or grab a drink at the bar. I definitely recommend coming here for your next outing! . . . Update: last night was my second time coming here. I made a reservation online the day before for 8pm on Saturday night. took my best friend who was visiting from out of town and we started off with the Brussels sprout appetizer and some drinks. For our entrees my friend got the steak and I got the scallops. I swapped the risotto for the mashed potatoes. I’d say it was even better than my first experience. The food was great, our server Jesse was the SWEETEST (thanks again girl!) and the whole restaurant was buzzing. This is definitely my new favorite spot to eat in Morgantown. I found out about this place in the Morgantown magazine. I’m always up for trying new places. It was easy to make a reservation using Google and the Toast app. They have daily dinner specials, a full list of cocktails, wines, and beers, and a nice variety of food on the dinner menu. The owner was our server and he was very kind and helpful. I started with one of their special cocktails that was very good. My husband and I got the crab cake appetizer and it was, by far, one of the best crab cakes I’ve ever eaten. I wasn’t sure what to order for my main entree. The owner mentioned that many of the proteins are wood fired over the grill. I chose the seafood piccata. I was a little nervous because I’ve had piccata other places and they been over powered by lemon, but this piccata was DELICIOUS! It had pappardelle pasta cooked just right. The first time I came here, it was phenomenal. However, I just had dinner here again, and it was very underwhelming while also costing $200 for two adults.

I ordered prime rib, and it was cold in the middle. It turns out I was paying $60 for yesterday's prime rib. The chefs here should be embarrassed. There's no excuse for that.

I ordered two of the There Will Be Blood cocktails, and they tasted completely different from one another. I think they forgot an ingredient in the second one.

Finally, the bread pudding was half the size as the first time I went, if not smaller.
